As an active member in both my school and community I have taken part in many extracurricular activities and received many honors. I find it to be very important to live my life in a way that I am able to reach my fullest potential while giving back to others at the same time. Outside of school I participate in numerous activities. In the year of 2003, I began to take piano lessons. I pursued this and eventually had the opportunity to play in a church band. I still actively take lessons and thoroughly enjoy them. In addition, I have been committed to competitive soccer since the year of 2012. In the same way, I have played for my zoned high school’s soccer team since the year of 2012. Currently, I am participating in both teams and serve as the varsity captain for my high school team. Through this role of leadership I strive to motivate and encourage my fellow teammates to be the best they can be. As a result of being in this position of leadership I have learned responsibility and leadership skills. …show more content…
These clubs have a primary focus on community service. As of right now, I have earned a total of 175+ community service hours. I have knitted sweaters for the homeless, volunteered at camps for inner city kids, and traveled to Panama to build schools and provide medical services for those in need. I have an interest in missions and plan to take part in many more. On top of these activities, I also work part time at a dental office. While I am there I answer phone calls, file papers, check patients in, and clean rooms. From this job I have gained better patience and interpersonal
I have found myself to be rooted deep down with my christian ministry group Chi Alpha. We are a group of students that seeks to make relationships within our religion of christianity in order to form a loving community for myself and many others to be a part of. Recently, I have found myself to be useful when it comes to running the soundboard at our worship and collaboration nights where I come in early in order to set up chords and mix the worship band as they practice. This has been an excellent experience as I have been able to keep up my love for music as the same time of attending university. My active participation to this after class activity has developed who I am as a person.
Also, I effectively led the team members to do a great job by completing their tasks, showing respect and good customer service. I learned how to be a good leader my handling stressful situations with self-control
The National Honor Society’s theme for this year is “Envision Success: It’s achievable.” The theme basically says that you should always strive for being successful because if you try enough it can happen. Envisioning success can range from simply wanting to be successful to going out of your way to assure that it happens. Success can be achieved in different ways depending on the task. It all starts with a single thought that should be followed with a plan.
Within all these clubs we volunteer in the community throughout the years, like the Chapman Township Haunted House we do for the community every year. In the summer I also participate in the Saint Joe’s Festival, which is held by the church I’m a member of. I usually help run the game stations.
I used to run down the sideline shaking the goal jar, now I run around with a cash box at every school event asking for donations for the senior class. I’ve realized that some things never actually change, they just evolve to become something bigger. Soccer challenged me, brought me a great amount of happiness, and truly inspired me to be the leader I am
All my life I had always loved to help others and set an example. I believe that community service through the program National Honor Society, has greatly impacted my life by showing me how I can put my underlying motivation and cast a full fire of passion. I have always loved to teach and motivate others to try their hardest in school to achieve something above of their expectations. From my love of teaching, tutoring and trying to help understand in "student talk" has always been a strong point to show how rewording something can greatly impact a student's understanding which is all worthwhile. I always make sure to keep my grades up and dedicate time to studying and persevering which has influenced others around me to follow my path to achievement.
While simultaneously balancing work and school, I developed a greater sense of my abilities. I not only grew as an individual; but also gained character and knowledge. I can successfully state I have completed one year with a cumulative GPA of […]. Furthermore, I continue to participate in extra circular activities in my free time. For instance, I have held the position of assistant secretary of the business club, and have participated in the math and psychology clubs at Three Rivers Community College.
I have been considering and trying to aim for National Junior Honor Society since I have entered this school. This would be a wonderful experience if I could become a member of the National Junior Honor Society Chapter. Although, I am not involved in a numerous about of clubs or extracurricular activities in school. I am in a couple of organizations, do community work and work related jobs outside of school that demonstrates my skills, such as leadership and providing me experience. I like to make my community a place where people can get along and that it is comfortable for at least most people since not everyone will be like that.
Now I am even a soccer coach, and I absolutely love it. I enjoy being able to share my knowledge of the game, to growing players. I believe I highly enjoy coaching because I have had so many great coaches in my athletic career. Coaches have been a great support throughout my life. They have pushed and pulled me to do my best and have taught me many lessons.
“Congratulations, this is the 2013-2014 Mission Vista Men’s Varsity Soccer team.” I still remember the words coming out of my high school coach’s mouth as he spoke to the new varsity team after tryouts. I was the shortest and one of the youngest players on the team, but my passion for the game was not any less than anyone on the team. I was one of the only three sophomores on the team with a team dominated by juniors and seniors.
Honor is a privilege that many strive for and is not easily attained. I aspire to call myself a member of the national honor society because I have strong leadership skills, am willing to do what I can to help out the community, I have good judgement, and am prideful of our high school. Character could be defined as who we really are. How we carry ourselves when others are not around, our ethics, morals, and the decisions that define who we truly are and how others will perceive us. I am hard worker, and will do whatever it is I can to get a task completed efficiently.
In middle school and high school, almost every club I was in had to do with serving the community. It has always been something I enjoyed doing. I live in Johnstown, a city where many of the families are in poverty. One of my school 's biggest projects was Trojan Family Christmas, which was a charity event sponsored by Kiwanis Club through our Key Club that ensured children within my school district got at least one present. The members of Key Club, which included myself, put together different activities for the children, which included making Christmas ornaments and hot chocolate.
I have gained important leadership skills because at a very young age I had to become a mom. A mom to my own siblings, my parents had troubles with jobs and alcholism. In a big city alone I had to learn on my own how to keep my siblings behaved and nutured. My leadership skills kept expanding through out elementary. As I wasn't afraid to speak my mind and do actions upon myself.
Throughout my high school career, I was forced into many situations where I was challenged to connect with my peers and serve as a role model for future students. Whether it be my involvement in the school marching band, or helping students in community tutoring sessions, I have always made it my goal to better the people around me through my own efforts. Throughout my high school career, I have put forth my best effort to connect with my peers, transform individuals, and make a difference in my community. Joining the school marching band at the beginning of my freshman year of high school was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Due to my passion for soccer, I have served as a soccer camp coach for QuickSkills Soccer Camp, and am currently volunteer assistant coaching
