Maps are a little harder than images because you need to know what the map is trying to show. Once you figure that out though, putting it in your DBQ should be easy. Charts are documents with information in an organized and easy to read form. Many charts will give you information that you can put straight into your DBQ, but sometimes the chart will give you seemingly useless information.

The Arizona SB 1070 arguably may be one of the most controversial state immigration laws passed in Arizona. Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, Republican Party, signed the bill into a law on April 23, 2010. The bill implemented three key provisions: it permits people to sue their local government, agencies, cities, and counties if they believe that the immigration law is not actively being enforced. Second, it requires that police officers, when practicable, check the immigration status and detain those they deem suspicious as residing illegally in the United States. The final provision require an individual to possess their immigration documentation at all time.
School districts across the country are living the parable of the blind squirrel. The districts need to find ways to work smarter, not harder. The mission and vision aren’t the only driving force in today’s school. Data is a critical aspects that is being addressed daily or should be. Looking at data has been and will be a challenge for a fixed mindset.
How would you use the demographic data pertaining to students and their families to develop a school mission and goals for Harpo Allen Middle School? What additional information might prove to be helpful in the process? • Tailor the school climate and atmosphere around multiculturalism based on the socio-economic environment of the school to help promote pride in the accomplishments of people from different cultures. • Use a staff development day to take teachers into the neighborhoods to visit students in their homes and meet parents face-to-face to let them know that the faculty cares about each student and has his or her best interest in mind.
Combined with the 2000’s recession crises, many high schools and elementary schools have decreased resources or even cut classes in subject areas that are not part of No Child Left Behind 's accountability standards. Since 2007, almost 71% of schools have reduced instruction time in subjects such as art and music to provide more funding to Math and English (http://www.ed.gov/esea). In some schools, even though art and music remain available, students who are not on level with basic skills are sent to remedial reading or math classes rather the other optional
LITERATURE REVIEW The authors of the academic journal “Starting Behind: A Comparative Analysis of the Academic Standing of Students Entering Charter Schools” Garcia, McIlroy, and Barber demonstrated that students entering a charter school are at an academic disadvantage in comparison with the students that choose to transfer to public schools, affecting the agreement stipulated on the charter to improve and maintain a high level of academic standards, producing a negative effect on how the school will be evaluated for the continuation of the program. To do this they rely on the use of statistical data from the Arizona and Washington DC state records. Charter schools are public entities funded by the state that operate under a charter or contract

IDEA OR PRACTICE BEING USED: The district worked collaboratively with teachers, parents, and leaders to develop an afterschool program to help underpriviliged students who may not have resources at home to help with education or who may need extra help with learning. Students are also provided food and activities that promote self-awareness, leadership qualities, and physical/extracurricular activities that they wouldn 't have access to otherwise. As part of the proposal, I wrote a concise, detailed document that included tentative guideline of events. In addition, I researched and formulated bylaws with enhanced requirements for admission into the society to fit the standard of high-achieving students at Westlake. I recruited a team of officers to help implement my ideas, and found spirited teachers to be the faculty
Though testing is necessary with the current structure of evaluating students, there is a conscience effort to improve schooling for students. Hoping to stay teaching in Eastern Washington, I am excited to see teachers setting the foundation for change. I hope that I have the opportunity to not only help my students inside the classroom but also in a more political way that will help students that I am not teaching. Like many things that I’ve experienced in these last ten weeks of class, my thoughts on education have definitely been
In my current instructional setting, the district incorporates various components from each ideology. However, the Scholar Academic ideology is the basis for the curriculum. The district is comprised of ten, standards-based schools that implement the New Jersey Student
The diversity of student backgrounds, abilities and learning styles makes each person unique in the way he or she reacts to information. The intersection of diverse student backgrounds and active learning needs a comfortable, positive environment in which to take root. Dr. King continues by explaining, “Education which stops with efficiency may prove the greatest menace to society. The most dangerous criminal may be the man gifted with reason, but with no morals.” From back then to today’s society, kids are failing because they lack those morals that they need to succeed.
With those said, I know very well that this type of play style is not a best fit for everyone. Which is why I’d like to say that THIS is what the guild is about. If it doesn’t fit someone, then that someone is free to leave or resign, no hard feelings. Members have been coming and going, which is normal. As much as we want people to stay, we won’t force anyone to stay, especially if they feel that this game and/or the guild is a chore.
