Challenges of the late 19th century between Ulysses S. Grant and Frederick Jackson Turner. Grant was known for his Inaugural Address he wrote on March 4th, 1869 he talked about rights for every man no matter what race to have equal rights and be able to vote anywhere in the United States. Grant also hated politics; he thought he didn’t owe Politian’s anything. Grant was also a popular person, being that he was a popular person people told him to run for president and so he did. He didn’t have to campaign himself because everyone just voted for him. Grant was a person of trust and he knew what he wanted to do as president, he didn’t care what people thought because everyone knew he was right. But he had a different outlook on certain things
