Transferring to the University of New Hampshire would mean finally taking that giant step in my journey toward becoming a great engineer. Throughout my time in high school, I knew what my strengths were, and what I enjoyed. I did not however, know what I wanted to study when it was time to go to college. That changed when I learned more about the field of engineering. I knew instantly it was the correct path for me. As soon as it was possible, I changed my future major at Gateway Community College from automotive repair, to engineering. It was the only way I would be able to satisfy my constant curiosity and desire for challenge, while also using my strengths for math, physics, and problem solving. While I was taking classes to become an engineer, I was also employed full-time as an automotive technician. I worked my way to becoming a top level technician in the automotive field, learned all I could in class, and started a family. I am proud of what I accomplished, and I know it was the right thing for the people who count on me the most. I truly believe that by working hard and becoming highly knowledgeable in a skilled trade, doing my best to raise a family, and constantly researching engineering and physics out of my own curiosity, I have become as prepared to succeed at the University of New Hampshire as possible.
