Mostly everyone chooses their career when they are in high school. It is a very important decision that can affect one’s life. One might want to take on a career that affect people's lives, such as a nurse, doctor, and more. Although a nurse anesthetist career requires good education and skilled workers, it is a challenging career because of the skills and qualities a person needs, but the salary, benefits, and the experience are wonderful rewards. A nurse anesthetists is fairly new career with great potential and with an abundance of responsibilities and unusual work hours (depending on work place). There are highly important responsibilities one has when working in this career, for example, give patience medicines and treatments (careeronestop.org). First one needs a high school diploma of course, then one needs a bachelor of science in nursing or a similar degree. Then, one needs to obtain a license as a registered nurse, and about one year or more experience as an register nurse (RN) in an acute caring setting. Most the programs aren’t difficult, some of them can be competitive in order to get a
In studying Registered Nursing one will find that they have to be compassionate and want to care for others. Registered Nurses assist physicians with suffering patients of any medical condition. They help to decide the patient’s medicine, treatment, recovery, and educate the them and their families on post-medical treatment. They need to have bedside manner, and be able to prepare patients for surgery. Registered Nursing careers range anywhere from critical care, oncology, mental health, to an everyday school nurse.
The health career that I am most intrigued with is a certified registered nurse anesthesist or for short, CRNA. In the United States, a certified registered nurse anesthesist is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who has acquired graduate-level education and board certification in anesthesia. Certified registered nurse anesthesists provide anesthesia in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, dentists, podiatrists, and other qualified healthcare professionals. Certified registered nurse anesthesists are the primary providers of anesthesia care in rural America, enabling healthcare facilities in these medically underserved areas to offer obstetrical, surgical, pain management and trauma stabilization services. In some states, certified registered nurse anesthesists are
Everyone wants to be successful in their careers. Many want careers that make money and that has a personal meaning. By being an anesthesiologist, one can get paid well and save lives, but first one has to be successful. Getting a good education, finding a place to work and gaining experience in one’s career leads one to be successful at their job.
Pediatric nursing is a great career choice because I will have the opportunity to interact with young children and help them. Also, there are many job opportunities in this field. The jobs for Pediatric Nurses are increasing over the years. It would be easy to find a good job in the field of Pediatric Nursing, while still working on improving my career. I plan to approach my career by going to college and working as a RN to gain some experience.
Have you ever wondered who monitors you when you while you're going through a surgery? Let me guess, an anesthesiologist's assistant isn't the first thing that you thought of because it's a career that most people don't consider. Well to become an anesthesiologist’s assistant you have to be good at math and have good grades which I do. An anesthesiologist’s assistant is the one that gives you the drugs {but that's usually the Anesthesiologist} and monitors you during your surgery, you need varying levels of education. There are many advantages to being an anesthesiologist, one of them are you have flexible work hours and you only need at a minimum 40 hours of work a week.
Their job requires administration of anesthesia for patients requiring surgery or a procedure, monitor patient’s vital signs, and oversee patients during recovery after anesthesia is used. They work closely with doctors in various health disciplines, dentists, surgeons, and other anesthesiologists. Nurse anesthetists can be found in various settings such as operating rooms, emergency rooms, intensive care units, cardiac care units, and outpatient surgical clinics. The education required to become a nurse anesthetist includes an initial registered nursing license, then continued education to earn a master’s degree from an accredited program.
According to Ferguson’s database in order to become a neonatal nurse, one must first train to be an RN. To prepare to be an RN one should take high school mathematics and science courses such as biology, chemistry and physics. Neonatal nurses who work in critical care may become certified in neonatal critical care nursing by
Henry Ford once said, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.” What this means to me is that everyone has the potential to do anything they want; however, if they do not have the confidence and the drive to go for their dreams, they will not accomplish anything. As a second-semester sophomore in high school, it may seem that I have plenty of time to decide what I want to do with my life, but that is not exactly the case. With the SAT test coming up in about a year and college applications beginning not long after that, now is the perfect time to start planning for my future. My plan for after high school is to attend college and pursue a degree in anesthesiology.
What They Do Nurse anesthetists belong to a wide range of advanced practice nursing in multiple medical settings and perform a variety of medical tasks to help the patient. Nurse anesthetists belong in the group that includes nurse midwives and nurse practitioners, while each of their duties are unique, becoming a nurse anesthetist is what I am the most interested in. Nurse anesthetists provide anesthesia before, during, and after various procedures whether they’re surgical, therapeutic, or diagnostic or even obstetrical procedures; during emergency procedures nurse anesthetists provide pain relief and pain management by the use of medications. However, it is extremely important to assess the patient and their medical history to become aware of any illnesses, allergies, or previous administered medications so the judgement call can be made for the medication to be administered safely and successfully. Nurse anesthetists remain with the patients during the procedure to monitor the anesthesia state of the patient during and after the procedure.
Nursing, and everything that it entails, cannot be easily described in just one simple word or phrase. It goes beyond the meaning of a profession and the stereotypical definition of treating the ill. Nursing is the “protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations” (American Nurses Association, 2010, p. 1). Therefore, it is a career that requires dedication, passion, critical thinking, and knowledge. It demands commitment and an understanding of its core values and concepts, as well as the nurse’s own personal philosophy and principles.
Anesthesiologists are physicians who focus on relieving pain for surgical patients. Anesthesiologists administer anesthetics which prevent patients from feeling any pain and sensations. Also, anesthesiologists monitor patient’s vital signs and administer anesthetics during surgical procedures. In addition, they observe patients after an operation, and during recovery, they administer the appropriate medications. They can also treat patients who have conditions that cause chronic pain.
In the world of college, there are many majors or professions to choose from. Whatever career I choose to take, I know that there are many doors open for me to walk through. Planning for life after high school, I am considering going into the medical field to become a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse (NICU). A NICU Nurse is a nurse who cares for premature and critically ill newborns that are born in need of immediate medical attention.
For the majority of people, pursuing a career in the medical field is a career which should be avoided at all costs. Whether this profession is a surgeon, a nurse, or a psychiatrist, the long hours of study and work (which are necessary for these occupations), are not in most people’s definition of a “fun job.” In addition, after the long years of study come to an end, the most feared moments arise, the time to pay student loans. Nevertheless, none of these obstacles intimidated Juan Delgado in order to pursue his dream as a healthcare professional, more importantly, to help our community. Delgado, the oldest of two, was born on December 3rd,1991.
Being a critical care nurse comes along with a lot of different responsibilities and many different things happen during a day on the job. What a day on the job looks like for a critical care nurse would be, checking on the patient's pain levels every hour, monitoring patients for changes in their status, evaluating their vital signs, and being an advocate for the patient and his or hers family. Some critical care nurses work up to twenty hours a day and others just work the day shift or just work a night
Another reason I close to major in Nursing is for the money and benefits that the profession offers. Most nurses have excellent pay depending on the type of environment they work in. of course, trauma nurses, surgical nurses, and nurses who
