THE FUNCTION OF ENGINEERS IN PROTECTING THE SOCIETY
1. MEANING OF ENGINEERING
We often use the words “science and technology” for engineering. what can be done by engineers with science and technology? Researchers think about it and do some research which resulted in the understanding that engineering is about planning and designing something that helps society by regulating science and technology.
This does not mean that science is engineering. Engineering is about creating something that required by society. Whereas science is not like that, science is that you find something that already exists in nature, then you find out more about what you find. So, that is the difference between science and engineering.
Engineering is manufacture something by using knowledge and technology. To create something just using existing technology will not yield good results, and therefore to solve it we must have the creativity or skill in this field. When we already have both, then we will find the

For example in the past human cannot interaction in two worlds at one time.
Then, how about now? Most of people in this whole world interact in two different places at one time everyday, every hour or may be every minute. The meaning of interact in two worlds at one time is human can use their electronic device with internet connection and interact with people on the other side world and at the same time they can interact with someone else in their real life. Absolutely this current technology is the result of engineers’ invention.
Engineers also help us for our health and safety. They always make new innovation for new things that prioritized safety for customer. With new innovation that customer’s safety is the first priority, customer will be attracted to buy the new
This idea can be applied to things such as global corporation operation and global politics or even family communications. It is apparent with these situations, the opportunities for which tasks can be accomplished is quite literally endless. On the other hand, people are now performing tasks (whether they are multitasking or not) at much more quickly than they used to. This might be attributed to the increased pace of life brought on partially by technology.
Weary Dunlop Sir Ernest Edward Dunlop • Was a soldier in the Australian Army • He had to face the brutal imprisonment of the Japanese • Stood up against the Japanese soldiers to protected the prisoners • Gave medical attention to the prisoners who had suffer heavy injuries due to harsh conditions • Late 1930s – Mid 1940s • During World War II • The invasion of the Imperial Japanese in South East Asia • Women entered the workforce to replace the men who enlisted in the military forces. • Had brought fear and terror to the public • His compassion and outright selflessness towards his fellow prisoners is an inspiration to all • His dedication towards his duty as a soldier and as a doctor • His bravery and optimism was what gave hope to both the prisoners and Australians and was even recognised by the Japanese. Vincent Lingiari •
He thinks that will be same thing as put a TV on a pay phone. Although it was sound impossible in the past, it will create in the future by future knowledge. That is why people will like saving a lot of impossible ideas. Although people cannot let it become true, people can wait for the future technology. As people know that imagination and knowledge are very important, however how the children study it?
Unlike Utilitarian ethics, a consequentialist moral theory, or Kantian ethics, a moral theory based on the alignment of one’s will and one’s duty, Aristotle’s Virtues Ethics does not discuss morality of single actions but rather “what sort of person should one be? What does it mean to live a good life?” This is important for engineers to ask a similar question in their professional career, “What does it mean to be a good engineer?” because they impact society’s ability to innovate and progress technologically, while maintaining or increasing society’s quality of life. The effects engineers have has been discussed in class, including examples like the development of the lightbulb, radio, and concrete.
From Eisenhower’s point of view highway construction was “an important economic tool.” He also believed that it would make roads safer and easier to transport people and good, furthermore opening more employment opportunities, which indeed did, but now the system needs to be updated to address a new set of problems and to meet the new needs of society. During the 50th Anniversary of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s open house, Elaine L Chao delivered a speech introducing the idea of advancing the use of technology in the way we travel. Now of course the idea of having self driving cars, trains, and so forth has been around for some time now, but bringing them ideas into reality seems hard to picture it being the most reliable and safest option available. With safety being the Department’s core priority makes many wonder, could we were to proceed with this advancement, and would it be one would could garnet safety from or a easy reversible
Scientific Advancement Furthers Society’s Downfall In the novel, Brave New World by Aldous Huxley the society presented is becoming more and more similar to the society that humans live in today. The reason that these societies are becoming more and more similar to each other is the further advancement of science and technology. Scientific advancements are what keep this world turning; it’s what keeps the humans moving in the right direction, or so humans think. Similarly the society of Brave new World has already gone through these scientific advancements, but with these types of advancements comes corruption of the mind.
People are always focused on being the creator; they invent amazing innovations, but no one knows how to apply them. Rather than create an unusable, new technology, I’d like to focus on creating new purposes for the technology. Often the simplest solutions are the most brilliant. To think of the way to utilize and advance what is at hand is the challenge. My interest in technology was sparked by my own curiosity and fascination; since the 6th grade I would always check Yahoo News’s Science and Technology tab, taking my newfound knowledge of amazing new advancements and sharing it with my family at the dinner table.
In result, we are getting to be dependent upon it in things such as reading, and writing. This article also guarantees that innovation is a tremendous diversion in our lives. We are using the internet to much, making it impossible to move quicker and faster. In this article I see some techniques being utilized.
Nasa is looking into different ways to send people to other planets and a safer or more efficient ways to get there. To help meet their goal of sending people to mars, nasa is creating the Asteroid Redirect Mission, it is the first-ever mission to analyze, seize, and alter a near-Earth asteroid to a balanced orbit around the moon. Once there, astronauts will be able to explore it and collect data from it. Nasa is guessing that in 2020s all of this will take place.
Jean –Jacques Rousseau believed that technology, knowledge and science corrupts human beings, and that human nature is good. The more knowledge a person have, many take greed into their hand or the more money a person has they believe they are better than another person. Some also believe the more money they have, the more problems they will have in their life. There is a saying that goes “it’s better to be poor and happy than being rich and miserable.” In the case of technology, it is something that corrupts human beings.
Other fundamental challenge occurs in the process of combining art into technology. It is not easy to getting people in different disciplines to treat one
It has become apparent throughout time that moral conflicts are constantly challenging engineers. Whether it is related to infamous incidents that led to the downfall of professionals or the daily obstacles that engineers face, moral excellence is of the utmost importance in any field. Intellectual and character virtues, as exemplified in the philosophical context, are essential to engineering ethics. Of these virtues, engineers should strive for honesty, courage and fairness. Achieving the aforementioned moral excellences will allow engineers to conduct good judgments and commitment to their professional life.
What is the science? What are differences between science and pseudoscience? The word science comes from the Latin "scientia," meaning knowledge. Science attained through study or practice and can be rationally explained and reliably applied.
Machines and gadgets are becoming an inseparable part of our lives. Technological development has enabled remarkable advancement, greater comfort, improved health, readily accessible information, rapid communication, and easy transport to virtually
