Many people think that minors who have access to social media are more involved in activities and have a better social life. However, those who do have access to social media often use it too much as a distraction, and do not focus on important things like school. Minors should not have access to social media because they are not at a mature age yet to be responsible and aware of what they are doing or what they have access to. When a person experiences something new they sometimes get too carried away with it and become addicted, because they enjoy it too much. For example one puts too much personal information on the internet letting people know their exact location. people post their exact location for people to meet up with them yet, they face the risk of a kidnapper seeing that and finding them. This is an easy access to finding people. Like the show "Catfish" where people meet a "significant other", or so they think they do, but have no idea for sure how they look like. When they finally meet them it is a complete different person, after the many conversations they had with them and all the stuff they gave to the other. They were giving so much to a complete stranger, like money, where at the end they could not do anything about it because the damage was already done and they did not know anything about the real person since they were living in a fantasy. Others say that minors using social media gives them a chance to express their inner thoughts as a sort of freedom. However, they get carried away with this freedom using it as an excuse to meet others and post personal information.
