The reason why I want to be in the Health Career Pathway at Chase High School, for future careers. I have been not sure about what I wanted to be when I grew up. I was wanting to go into the medical field but was not sure about it. I did not know what it was about or like what areas I wanted to be in or anything. 2016 summer I was accepted into the Teen Volunteer Program at Rutherford Regional Hospital. I experience what it was like on a daily basis at the hospital. Experiencing this inspired me into going into the healthcare/medial field. I learned in the volunteer program that personal characteristics that you need to have is respect, caring, positive attitude towards everyone. When being in the Health Career Pathway, I need to always be …show more content…
When it comes to controversial healthcare issues, I am going to have that open mind towards the patient, I am going to be mature about the situation. I understand if I would not be able to do this, this could be harmful to someone’s life. My goal is life is to go into the medical field, I want to go to college then after college go into the medical field doing something I love. I am going to reach this goal by being a good student, by studying hard and making good grades. Coming to school each and everyday because attendance is extremely important. Also having a postive attitude towards every situtation that life gives me. I think I should be 1 of the 10 to make it into Nursing Fundamentals class because I have the personal characterics, which would be having respect, caring, positive attitude towards everyone. I already have the experience from the Teen Volunteer Program, that would be useful for me in Nursing Fundamentals class. My dedication towards academics shows that I want to be in the next level, I drive myself to my best and nothing but the best. I am hoping my dedication will allow me to be in the Nursing Fundamentals
For over fifteen years I have enjoyed being an LPN. Working in nursing homes taught me to how to patience and how to use my knowledge to help my patients to the best of my ability. My time as an alcohol and drug rehabilitation nurse helped me to appreciate the courage it takes to admit to a problem, ask for help and the strength it takes to work to get better. Working in a hospital taught me to how to work in a fast paced setting while keeping my sanity intact.
The reason I started volunteering was to experience what actually happens in the day to day lives of doctors. I wanted a better understanding of what being a doctor truly means. Being able to see all the action from the sidelines, but know you are helping that whole facility out
Thank you for taking the time to review my personal statement on why I have chosen to embark on the journey to become a Physician Assistant. My story started several years ago, more than I care to count, when I stumbled into the health care world as a paramedic in rural Pennsylvanian. While in high school, I became friends with several other students who were actively volunteering with a local fire department. After hearing their stories about the things they were learning and doing I also joined a volunteer fire department, mostly out of curiosity. Over the course of a couple of years I discovered that the challenges that I encountered during training and responding to emergencies had unlocked some unrealized, more like unknown, drive inside

My career goal would to become a physician assistant. I’ve had always been interested in something in the medical field and I decided the best option for me would be this job. I’ve considered many options, such as a RN, or maybe something along those lines. I find this job extremely interesting and I've always wanted to help people either through law enforcement of in the medical field trying to figure out what's wrong with my patient.
People have a personal potential to live up to and standards to live by, but everyones’ differs. Deep down, I know I have a high potential to find a career in the health field and become successful at it. I, along with other people, know that I set high standards for myself because of the potential that I hold. The health field attracted me due to its nurturing nature in taking care of others and logical thinking with problem solving. My existential and pragmatistic mind has inspired me to pursue a career in cardiac rehabilitation.
I went to New York City to join a group of volunteers who came to help ease the burden on the healthcare system there. During this time, I met a few wonderful PAs who felt the same way I do. An innate desire to contribute which we channel through healthcare. I watched them do the work from the ground up, everything from setting up rooms to actual patient care. Many took the time to talk to me personally sharing stories about how they got to their position; these EMTs, paramedics, and nurses all loved their experience but were ready for
These factors will help me be a successful student and prepare me for my career. In the future, I would like to work in private practice or a local hospital. Alongside practicing medicine, I would like to lead community health initiatives. I have always been interested in education, and continuing to educate throughout my life is a priority for me. One organization that resonated with me is the Allied United for Health, a student organization that aims to bring health education to neighborhoods within Madison, Wisconsin to improve health literacy.
I want to earn my way up to a good university and earn my degree, apply to an outstanding dental school and start my long years of residency that lie before me. One of my goals in the future is to help others in need for medical attention. It makes me happy when I see others happy. I want to give back to my community and help others so I can earn the respect that I’ve always wanted.
Calvin Neal Exploring a Health Career: Physician Assistant Ever since my cousin Paul, whom I’ve always looked up to, went to college and became a PA, I’ve wanted to follow in his footsteps. The definition of a physician assistant is “someone qualified to assist a physician and carry out routine clinical procedures under the supervision of a physician.” However, physician assistants can be so much more than that. They work in numerous fields such as pediatrics, obstetrics, orthopaedics, and with several health care providers such as nurses, surgeons, and physicians.
According to my preceptor last semester I demonstrates a sound understanding of self-care, self-reflection and work life balance. I also have an “understanding of the components of the nurse patient relationship, by maintaining an open and professional relationship with the patients.” I am also “demonstrated self-direction and initiative” (B. Mahy, personal communication, DATE). Rena Hania, my current preceptor indicates that my strengths include “Maturity, professionalism and desire for autonomy. Asks appropriate questions, and have a gift for connecting with my patients” (R. Hania, personal communication,
When I was 15, I had scoliosis surgery to fix my two curves in my spine. Through my experience of having surgery and the nurses that took care of me while I was in the hospital for a week, and the bonded I formed with was what inspired me to be nurse. Also, through my school in a our Health Science Program I got the privilege to go to a hospital every other morning and shadow nurse and doctors. I believe my will to do anything for my patients for them to get better would make me a successful nurse, and I want to form bonds with my patients like my nurse did with me while I was recovering from surgery.
Prior to beginning this volunteer experience, I believed that I had a number of personal attributes and skills that fit this role such as having the necessary education about people, specifically older people if to work with elderly. As part of my college course, I have studied and learned about the development of people from conception to death, including how elderly people may act, think and perceive. All the knowledge I’ve attained from the lectures definitely came in handy whilst working in the nursing home. The ability to deal with mental illness properly is important when working in nursing homes as many people in nursing homes are there due to some kind of mental illness such as dementia and Alzheimer’s etc. Personal skills such as compassion, patience, being helpful, motivated, having good communication skills and being a good listener too.
I am certain I can make it as a pediatric surgeon because of my skills, dedication, and ambition. I am good at solving problems and I am not afraid to make changes in my life in order to accomplish what I want. I have an immense desire to succeed through hard work and perseverance. I am always eager to learn something new about the human body. The human body is something extraordinary, its captivating how the human body works and what it's made of.
When I graduate from high school I'd like to be a surgeon. I want to be a surgeon because it seems like a cool and interesting job. I think it would be an amazing experience to hold a human heart. I first saw this job and got really interested in it because of a T.V. show, Greys Anatomy. This career is important because it saves lives.
