Growing up is not as fun as it sounds; you have more homework, more classes, more responsibilities, and more everything. Yet we as people continue to go to college, and continue our education, even when it gets perplexing. As we grow up we’re always told to do our best, but what is your best? Your best is determined on what you decide to put into the work. Most people in reality like to do the bare minimum just to pass or get by, but if you’re going to school why not do your absolute best? This is a question that is commonly asked between my peers; We have yet to find the answer. According to the Merriam Webster dictionary the definition of school is an “institution promoting the education of children and young adults.” Teachers have …show more content…
Over the course of two year I have maintained a 3.9 grade point average. As you have probably gathered I am not only just a good student but also a leader in the community. I have also been a part of many clubs: student government, yearbook, Washington Drug Free Youth, National Junior Honor Society, band, Character Crew, helped out at a food bank several times, and People to People. Band has helped me to be better on a team each person each instrument has its job and without one we cannot work. People to People student ambassador program is probably one of my greatest …show more content…
Working on yearbooks in the past I found out that they take a lot of planning, and I found out that I had to work diligently to accomplish what I needed to turn it in on time. WDFY or Washington Drug Free Youth is a club that promotes being alcohol and drug free teens, and I have been a part of this club for two years. Treasurer of National Junior Honor Society is a big deal to me because I get to look at all the business transactions. In the fifth grade our school counselor started something called character crew. Character crew was a club that promoted good character by helping in the community and around our school, in this club I got to be a kindergartner helper and continued this job for three

Midlothian Middle School has been the place covering up hundreds of pieces of history these past hundreds of years. So much history that one could have a hard time memorizing all of it. There is one story though, one that stuck around. Always there, knocking on the back of your head asking to come into your mind like when someone knocks on your door asking to come in. The spot where Midlothian Middle school stands today sure has been a hotspot for some interesting history.
Deep Run High School - Center for Information Technology I spent my high school life as a student in the Center for Information Technology. During this time, I took courses on Project Management, Web Development, Programming, and participated in a multitude of student activities. If you would like to know more about this, visit the CIT website.
Fremont High School is located in Los Angeles, California, “sprawled across a city block.” The school enrolls about 5,000 students every year but only 3,300 are in attendance every day. The students read at an elementary school level and are not provided the necessities to succeed. The school is lacking many resources, such as, classrooms, restrooms, and lunchrooms. The school lacks at least 15 restrooms that the law requires.
It is absurd that when students, who are eager to get to class on time to learn something new, are forced to be late, simply because other students simply stand unmoving in the hallway transfixed on their phones or talking with their friends. As a result, the regular flow of traffic in the hallways at Las Cruces High School are blocked so badly, it is as if you were witnessing a traffic jam at rush hour. This prompts trying to go the bathroom between classes highly improbable, for it is hard enough to make it to class on time without trying to make a stop at the bathroom. Students have resorted to plowing and shoving through people as their only way to possibly make it to class, and be in their seat before the tardy bell rings. I think that
Do you believe that innocent people should be punished for what others have done? Imagine this, you are a doctor and you are payed five hundred thousand dollars a year. Someone at the hospital makes a critical mistake and loses the hospital millions. Instead of the one worker being fired, everyone that works there takes a huge pay cut and now only make three hundred thousand per year. Did your opinion change?
Common Core is the new standard of teaching in schools implemented by the federal government. State education chiefs and governors developed a set of standards that they believe students should know after each grade, so they are prepared for college or a job after high school. But are these standards fair for everyone? Not everyone learns at the same speed and some students require special attention.
When you offered to be my partner for a class activity in 8th grade, you probably didn’t know much that simple action would impact my life. At that time, I was going through a fight with my best friend that lead to many of my other friends abandoning me. I have always been a shy person, having a hard time making friends and keeping them. In 8th grade I was going through a period of my life where I didn’t want anything to do with other people because I thought there was no point if people were going to leave me in the end.
Should 6th Grade Be Placed In Elementary or Middle School? By: Wiktoria Kaciak #16 Ding! The bell goes off. You, as the youngest student on campus, stand there in the middle of the hallway, watching as all of the older students rush to class.
College is a big decision in one’s life, especially as a senior in high school. Students are expected to go to college to gain further knowledge in the career path they have chosen. Amanda Baratz, for example, is a freshman at Kehillah Jewish High School in San Jose, California. The summer after her freshman year, she will fly to Georgetown University for a five week course about medical careers. She hopes to see an open heart surgery while she is there.
For some kids, middle school is the most torturous time of their lives. For me, I learned a lot about myself. The song I chose to describe my 8th grade year is called “Whatever it Takes” by Imagine Dragons. This song describes my 8th grade year best because I interpret it mostly as talking about the importance being different than other people. I think this year is mostly when I realized the importance of not being like everyone and being completely myself.
The word sixteen defines my teenage youth. Most little girl’s, like me, could not wait for the day they turn sixteen. You are at your prime time for a teenager. Just saying to someone, “I’m sixteen”, seemed so amazing and mature. I cannot believe I will be turning sixteen in only a couple of hours.
Almost everyone is born with five senses. However, in this case I was born with four senses and one of senses I lost was hear. I am Deaf and I use American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate with hearing people. I won’t be able to write or read this if it weren’t for high schools. With the help of an advisory system in high school, my English teacher, I was able to not only meet the standard education, but also continue my life journey.
I maintain my GPA no lower than a 3.2 and I always love to help in my community. By the time I graduate I’ll have 120 hours of community service. I really believe that if you take some time to help someone in your community, it can really make a difference. And when it comes to school I’m always in task and try to improve my work ethic every year. In the eighth grade I won first place in regional National History Day, for group websites.
Our Classroom syllabus consists of 3 notable components which are classroom rules, attendance makeup work and late policy and the grading policy in the English II class. This teaches us how doing our best in this class is beneficial to our grade. I believe that these are the most important parts of this syllabus and they teach us the most about how to succeed and how to respect not only other people but also ourselves. Classroom rules and expectations are one of the most important components of this syllabus. This section tells us how to behave in class, such being respectful towards adults, such as not talking while another person/adult is talking.
