This film, illustrates the liberation, redemptive power of hope and religious themes of freedom and resurrection, with the words “fear can hold your prisoner, Hope can set you free”. The Shawshank Redemption is about hope in hopeless place. In the first scene in the movie Andy look himself in the warden office, and plays Mozart over the prison loudspeaker. Hope: “A good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” (Romans 15:1–4, 13; 1 Corinthians 15:51–58; Philippians 3:12–21; 1 John 4:13–18; Revelation 21:1–4) Red beginning to prove his point by stating hope so dangerous, and it can make a person insane. Red begins to look forward to seeing Andy when he gets out, and begins to believe he can get out. “I hope Andy is down there. I hope I can make it across the border I hope to see my friends and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is a as blue as it has been in my dreams I hope.” The prisoner who lives in fear becomes a man who finally begins to seek hope. As the film progresses Andy finds Red’s letter. He states that he has reached, and has been free for his first few months after being paroled. After Red’s emotional, and disturbing encounters he had went through a hard, and painful lifestyle. Living under depending rules life’s risk of violating terms, suicidal deaths, and structured life; he lived a life free from all that violence. In conclusion, The Shawshank Redemption shows us the importance of overcoming our fear’s through hope like red, and Andy. After serving 40 years, Red is finally paroled. He struggles to adapt to life outside prison and fears he never will. Remembering his promise to Andy, he visits Buxton and finds a cache containing money and a letter asking him to come to
