I have replied to two other types of personality other that mine, so I have decided to reply to one that is similar to mine. Based on the results of the INTJ personality type, I found it to be right on point as my behavior, career choices, etc. The few things I found that were a tad bit unlike me was the part on relationships and not being capable of readily grasping social rituals, by having little patience and limited understanding of small talk and flirtation.1 I can’t speak for other INTJs, but I have a great understanding all such . . . It’s just that I don’t care much for it. In addition, the findings found that our type is capable of disregarding authority. Well, I have the utmost respect for authority until one starts to abuse it.
When it comes to the different kinds of authority, having to use force or suggestion to follow an order is considered irrational authority while acting in the name of reason is known as rational authority. In the film A Few Good Men, Dawson and Downey blindly follow commands not only because it was their duty to, but due to the mind set they were trained in and the three social processes that created conditions in which moral thoughts against violence become weakened. By following an order from their superior, Dawson and Downey received punishment due to it being an unethical order, and Kelman and Hamilton effectively explain how their situation involves authorization. For authorization to exist, the subordinates are required to obey in the terms of their role obligations instead of their personal preferences (K & H 139).
Life lacks a clear line in the sand that spells out where the limits are. People must figure that out themselves and, often, it is difficult to do so. The difficulty lies in the fear of being wrong and no one wants to own up to their errors. So, on a deep level, authority is comforting. It gives people someone to rely on, someone to take orders from, and someone to place blame onto.
“Moral Authority comes from following universal and timeless principles like honesty, integrity, and treating people with respect”-Stephen Covey. With power comes great responsibility, just as authority does. However, sometimes people abuse their power in certain situations. It is also common to see people with power step on the people below them.
When we do something to please authority, we sometimes are not sure if it is for the right reasons. Every person on the earth has authority. However, the United States military branches are excellent examples to display authority. They have rankings such as corporal and colonel who interchange and are always moving up in the rankings. Sometimes what you are ordered to do is not always morally right.
In my opinion I display characteristics of the Enterprising, Conventional, and Social Occupational Themes. I am lead to this opinion by agreement with the descriptions of both Enterprising and Conventional themes. The Strong Interest Inventory Assessment I completed stated Enterprising theme potential skills as “verbal ability, ability to motivate and direct others.” I have been able to motivate and direct others through management, volunteer work, coaching, and many other activities in my life. I enjoy being able to envision, direct, and see an idea or project come together.
I’ve recently took the Jung Typology test, in which I believe that the questions I was asked were very remarkable. Also, the results gave me a clearer look of my personality. These kind of test can be very helpful, due to the fact that it can provide people information about their self’s in which they might not be consciously aware of. Well in my case, according to this particular examination; I’m considered an “ISFJ.” In other words, my preferences are being an introverted, sensing, feeling, and judging person.
Once completing multiple personality tests; thus I was finally able to confirm ESTJ as my personality type. Since I was getting unsuited suggestions of career choices, I retook the test until ESTJ was able to fit more of my interests and viewpoints. The 16 Personalities Test results gave me a more detailed description of who I am and insight on my personality traits. It has helped me figure out aspects that can help me get a better understanding of myself.
I agree with almost every description of my personality prescribed to me. The personality prescribed to me was ENTJ. The main description of a ENTJ is that they are commandant. I do enjoy taking a leadership role but I do not seek the position.
The Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI) was designed by Leslie C. Morey in 1991 as an alternative for the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory revised (MMPI-2) to provide relevant information to make a clinical diagnosis, treatment planning, and screening for Axis I and Axis II psychopathology in patients 18 or older. However, the PAI does offer both child and adolescent versions in which a psychologist may utilize this assessment personality on these individuals known as the PIC for children and PAI-A for adolescents. Upon administrating the PAI for the adult population, an individual can expect a duration ranging between 40-50 minutes to complete the PAI and requires a comprehensive reading level between 4th and 6th grade. The PAI assesses abnormal personality consisting of 22 scales and 31 subscales in total which contains a 344 self-report Likert questionnaire scored with a 4-point ordinal scale. Scoring of the PAI consists of 22 non-overlapping scales made up of 4 validity scales, 11 clinical scales, 5
State-Trait Depression Inventory (STDI) was used to measure depression (Spielberger, 2003). A 20-item questionnaire was administered that corresponds to the depression subscale of State-Trait Personality Inventory (STPI). It employed a four-point Likert scale with 1 meaning “almost always” and 4 meaning “almost never”. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient for the scale in the present study is 0.93.
Personality is one of the main areas of psychology research. Over the years, researchers developed theories trying to explain how people are different and similar. Personality traits were grouped together to be determinants of more general traits such as Extraversion, Agreeableness or Neuroticism. The traits were tested for various correlations. All this to better understand why people behave the way they do and how big impact does the personality have on behaviour.
Just what is Authority? We, as human beings all have a deep-seated sense of duty when it comes to authority. Ever since we were kids, we were taught to ‘respect’ authority, and to ‘trust’ authority figures such as our teachers, policemen and doctors – and this conditioning stays with us right
Introduction The personality perspective has been described by many theorists in order to explain behaviors behind a functioning person. There has been legendary theorists’ underlying this perspective, with different views and observations of understanding personalities exceptionally well. Regardless of lack of prominence in some approaches, their terminology and ideas still influence psychology today (Meyer, 2008). Only the two theories of Carl Rogers and Victor Frankl have been applied in the case study of Thapelo and Lerato.
The Big Five Personality Traits are divided into five broad characteristics, which is basically used to describe the variations of human personality. The various characteristics are: • Openness • Agreeableness • Conscientiousness • Neuroticism • Extraversion This model has gained particular popularity as it shows the different traits in a person which comes up with the situational change around the person. Shritika is an entrepreneur by profession and thus meets a lot of client in her workplace. Thus, she shows the trait of Conscientiousness in her behavior of enjoying her work and meeting up new clients is a part of her job role.
Personality is defined as the combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual 's unique character. Personality theory is the approaches to understanding the “What”, “How” and “When” of characteristics and features that make up an individual 's personality. An insight into personality is important to understand the function of a person’s mind. By doing this you would be able to understand and observe your own psyche from an outside perspective, interact with others better and understand why they do what they do or predict how someone may react to something. My personality can be describe as Introverted since I am reserved, practical and quiet.
