According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, for example, 3“A smart man makes a mistake, learns from it, and never makes that mistake again. But a wise man finds a smart man and learns from him how to avoid the mistake altogether,” stated by Roy H. Williams. There are lots of children who don't do their homework because their don't know the material taught. Scientists and doctors ran test to over 1,000 students throughout the US. Most results came out that students are very apathetic so they don't do the work. But let a professional tell you the truth behind students laziness through homework and assignments. Amelia Earhart from the National Academy of Pediatrics states, “The most effective way to do it,is to do it.” Although many would say, that to have success you can't make mistakes, that everything has to be perfect. But that statement is false because Professionals from the National Academy of Pediatrics did two tests on two groups of children to see which group was more successful. The group that failed the test learned from their mistakes, corrected the test and got an A or a B. But the students that didn't make a mistake on the test failed other tests because it turns out students did not know the material. The students copied off other students and all students who copied ended up failing the test. In terms of the students’ home environments, advocates cannot forget the “impact of nutrition, adequate housing, safe communities, or adequate health care” (Langa-Riordan 139). Legislators must strive to cost manage efficiently without sacrificing the need for students to be “supported by adults, have positive peer networks, and feel safe” (Lagana-Riordan 141). The answer may be to require schools to complete a more thorough record of students’ home lives, including a survey of single parents, crime rates in neighborhoods, and parent’s level of education. Similarly to the way that a teacher’s attitude affects their students’ education, a parent’s attitude or willingness to help with homework and hold themselves and their child accountable for knowing and remembering the information taught throughout the school year can affect a child’s effort in the classroom or at home and the retention of information. However, it may be difficult to gage a parent’s participation honestly because of different values and any presumptions that may prevent an honest assessment with a simple survey.
When schools work together with families to support learning, students tend to succeed not only in school but through life as well. The most accurate predictor of students achievement in school is not income or social stature, but the extent to which that family is able to play an active role in their education. By creating a home environment that encourages learning and expresses high expectation with proper support, children are able to flourish. In a publication conducted by the National Education Service, strong parent involvement directly correlated to student achievement, student behavior, and culture and age. I will work to create programs and interventions that engage families in supporting their children's learning both at home and school.

Why Students Shouldn’t Have Homework There are around 365 days in a year, and in a school year, there are around 180 days. From the beginning of the school year to the end, the most common thing that students least like, is homework. Coming home after a long day of school, then having responsibilities to do at home, not to mention some students have after school activities which take up around 2 hours if not more. Homework for students is a barrier that makes it difficult for them to have any kind of social life, or spend time with their family. Everyone goes to school, everyone has homework. Homework has been a topic of interest for a very long time. Many students think that homework is not beneficial. However, without homework people wouldn’t remember what they learned in class. Homework gives kids the chance to prove what they have learned.
Above all, homework allows the students to gain responsibility, time-management, perseverance, and self-esteem. “The act of completing homework has benefits in terms of developing good habits in students.” This shows that, students are gaining many skills from homework.
