I am honored to be eligible amongst the meritorious students who are being considered for induction within the National Honors Society. Being an active member in this society has been something I have been looking forward to since middle school; having previous family members inducted, I regard it as a goal I must accomplish. I would be honored to be a member of this society which is known for benefitting children, the elderly, and the needy .These limitless opportunities of contributing to my community will help me grow as a person which will undoubtedly help me in my future career as oncologist and leave an impact on my fellow community members. The National Honors Society is a remarkable organization for someone who demonstrates leadership, …show more content…
Community service is not only about receiving hours to put on a resume, but it is something you do to guide others and make them feel better. An example of this was when I was part of the MLK day of service at Stockton University two years in a row where I sewed pillows and pins to support the unfortunate; this was a great experience where I was able to make new friends and contribute to the society.Service is not only about being part of large organizations, but it is also about doing small deeds for others, like staying after school and contributing to the club even if it is not mandatory. I also was part of Project Green where I picked up garbage on the beach and planted marram grass. I am the type of person that likes helping the elderly and the needy; so when I go to India, giving clothes and food to the boys and girls who have nothing to eat and sleep with an empty stomach is a priority to me during my trip. The Atlantic County Library is also somewhere I volunteer; helping young children read books and organizing craft days on the weekends. It is a duty for every high school student to contribute to their society to make the community around us a better

Londonderry High School Honor Council The Londonderry High School Student Council is an organization that has been diligent in providing our school with the best service possible, entrusting roles of leadership to the student body in order to promote the development of college and career skills. We believe in the importance of self-directed action and individual initiative. We promote school spirit and pride on both the curricular and extra-curricular level. We are the representatives of every student in our school and strive to set an example of quality to be followed.
Requiring community service from students allows them to become better educated on their personal impacts on society. Community service is defined as voluntary work intended to help people in a particular area. The main goal of community service is to leave a positive impact on the world, making it a stronger and healthier place. A community service requirement to graduate from high school is beneficial because it can boost students' physical and mental health, be a positive way to gain exposure to new experiences, and be an overall good way to give back to the community.

Every week I spend time at the Morristown Medical Center as a volunteer, where I am able to help keep things functioning in the hospital at the highest speed possible and hopefully brighten a few patients’ days. Also, I’ve enjoyed helping refereeing youth basketball games for the past two seasons and being able to talk with the kids. It is a great opportunity to give back to a program which gave me so much in the five years I played in it when I was younger. Furthermore, I am excited for even more opportunities to have an impact on my community which being a part of National Honor Society would aid in.
It is an extraordinary honor to be considered as a candidate for the National Honor Society. Being considered means I have achieved my goal in demonstrating my determination- in school and outside of school- and my willingness to aid people in my community. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is an enormous responsibility to which I will fully devote my time. Ever since I was a freshman, my goal was to work diligently to be among the highest scholars and to be accepted into this scholarly “hall of fame”. Through my relentless hard work and perseverance, I believe that I possess the four characteristics of a National Honor Society member- leadership, service, character, and scholarship.
Today I am deeply humbled to be recognized as a potential member of the National Honor Society. To me this means I have exemplified everything you look for in a student who goes above and beyond, not just in academics but in athletics, the community and at home as well. I have not taken this selection for granted, as I believe would be a great asset to the National Honor Society. I am hardworking, honest, reliable and quite charismatic too. I hold all the qualities required by the distinguished NHS like leadership, service, character and scholarship.
Unknown #10 produced no identifiable macroscopic characteristics as a broth, so the first step was to Gram stain a loopful to determine the microscopic characteristics. Gram staining not only helped identify Unknown #10’s microscopic morphology but it also helped ensure the specimen was a pure culture—no other bacteria were visible when Unknown #10 was Gram stained and observed under the microscope. Unknown #10’s key microscopic morphology was that it was a very small, Gram negative bacillus. Though bacilli can possibly form endospores, no empty white centers were visible which suggested that Unknown #10 was not an endospore forming bacteria. No quick endospore stain was performed to validate this assumption since only one assigned organism was endospore forming and unlike Unknown #10, that organism was Gram positive.
Throughout last two years of High School in Canada, I was the leader of my school 's’ Service club. What It basically entailed was visiting different variety of old people 's homes, one of which specialised patient care for people with Dementia and Alzheimer 's. We also organised food drives and clothing drives. Once a week along with our school’s kitchen staff we cooked food for the homeless near our little town as my school was located in a small town/village. During my first and second year in college I concentrated mostly on children and food drives as well. During my first year, I was part of my school’s Siblings program which was a subset of the Community service program.
Weeks of college search and then you collide, thanks God you did not collapsed! Yes, I collided-with the most important answer yet I had to arrange for my questing future leading up to my PhD- or – to the inclusion of my name in The Scientific American’s list of 30 under 30 scientists! It was my decision to apply to Georgetown College as my top-choice college. Hands-on learning in the lab, with connection to the world outside the laboratory through a series of discussions with the scientists working in the public policy area which was possible through Georgetown's Science in Public Interest Program, attracted the ambitious core inside me.
Volunteering should be done intrinsically. Many students find community service so difficult, time consuming, and not enjoyable. Therefore, they tend to only complete the required hours without any essential effort. To call mandatory community service 'volunteering ' is a problem because then we begin to confuse the distinction between an activity that is willingly done and something that is obligatory and perhaps not always rewarding. Volunteering should be something you choose to do because you want to do it, not because somebody made you do it.
Community service is something that gives many people joy and gives them a purpose. “In bestowing charity, the main consideration should be to help those who will help themselves” (Source 2). This year I joined a school club called iCare. It’s a club that helps and plans different events and fundraisers at the school to benefit people who are less fortunate “since the world’s resources are dwindling”(Source 3). I have been able to help plan school events and even deliver special treats to volunteers who help people in need.
Community service does not only have a profound impact on our community, but the impact it has on the individual people is even greater. The concept of community service has always been something that I grew up with, and now that I am older I better understand how important community service is for society. I have participated in community service activities. Starting in elementary school, I helped feed the homeless and rescue animals. Even with my wide range of volunteer experience, it was difficult to find an activity that would be meaningful and fulfill my thirty-hour obligation for my senior project.
To be an honors student takes a lot of hard work. There are many factors that go into being a successful student. I believe that you must be determined, organized, and disciplined. These three qualities are the key to succeeding in your goals because I have used them all throughout my high school career, and plan to use them in college. Determination is the quality that makes you keep on trying, and to never give up, even if things get difficult.
Community Service What Community Service means to me is that you are providing jobs for an organization who wanted you to completed the jobs that has been assign to you and needs to be done in a timely manner . The organization will reward you with Community Service hours for graduation requirement or if you are in National Junior Honor Society you're need more community service hour than the rest of the high schoolers but for non NJHS members in order to graduation you need to have at least 20 hour of Community service hours. I have completed the community services hour by 27 hours of Community service that is on my high school transcript and hoping for more before the end of my senior year. I think the importance of community service is what are you doing to help change the community in a positive way.
