I have always set my mind to everything I’ve wanted to achieve. At times, I found that things were difficult, but I never gave up and always tried harder. In college, I plan to major in nursing and after graduation I would like to head to straight into the nursing field and fulfil every goal I set for myself from that point on. As a child, I was always interested in helping others and making them feel better. Continuously, I was told to never give up at anything and always try to succeed in all that I do. I remember as a kid, I would always try to help my little sister get better during any time that she wasn’t feeling well. I am the type of person to constantly make sure that the people around me are alright and I always make sure to …show more content…
I enjoy being around children and I feel as if they gravitate towards me because I am a very caring and nurturing person. Since I get along well with younger children, I could see myself specifically as a pediatric nurse. I am very patient and understanding, these qualities of mine would be beneficial in the nursing field. I would view myself as empathetic, I have an idea of others’ feelings and with that I can help them through their problems. I can handle stress, although it is hard at times I am still able to bounce back and stick with what I am trying to succeed in. I’ve always had plans for myself and because of this, I believe that it’s important to plan out anything that you are trying to do or accomplish. Most people would consider me a determined individual, I won’t give up without having a struggle first. When I start something, I tend to not quit. I stick with what I am doing until I am finished the process. One other quality that I portray is that I am very passionate at what I do, whatever I do. Throughout the enrollment process into college, I would like administration to consider me not only because of my academic qualities, but because of the determination I have and the commitment of what I long for in my

I am a firm believer that in order to be happy and successful, you need to have a job that you love to do. This ideology is what motivated me to want to become a nurse practitioner and help the people in my community. Attending California State University, Los Angeles is allowing me to pursue my academic goal of getting into the nursing program. I aspire to get my bachelors of science in nursing to be able to become a registered nurse. After gaining experience as a registered nurse, I will pursue a master of science in nursing to become a nurse practitioner.
Personal Statement for Nursing School “When a person decides to become a Nurse. They make the most important decision of their lives. They choose to dedicate themselves to the care of others” Growing up in Nigeria; I had my first introduction to the field of medicine at the age of 6. At the time, my grand father was a holistic doctor at my local community. Whenever my grandfather went to work, he would take me with him and I remembered being very fascinated by how people would come in to get treatments for different kinds of diseases.
There is a high significance for a nursing student completing their degree in nursing to start their career as a nurse practitioner. Nursing students must prepare to become nationally certified by an accredited body upon completion of their schooling in order to advance their career (AANP, 2016). This academic accreditation process helps to show that the students have met the requirements to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in their population focus testing. The scope of practice will be affected based on the certification that the practitioner obtains. If the Nurse Practitioner obtains a certification as a nurse specialists in pediatrics, oncology, geriatrics, emergency medicine, etc.
Weekly Self S.O.A.P - A. S- Discuss your SUBJECTIVE feelings for this week: Thursday, I went to an event hosted by Northbay hospital which taught PSA high schoolers the basics of CPR on adults, children and infants. It was really rewarding to see kids wanting to learn how to perform CPR and asking very valid intelligent questions on how to perform CPR. Friday, I went back to my home grounds and did my clinicals at med surg. After spending a few days in med surg, I realized I really do not like med surg.
I am currently an undergraduate at Rowan College at Gloucester County completing my pre-nursing studies. As I was growing up, I always enjoyed the idea of helping and healing others. My inspiration to become a nurse was watching my mother make a difference in the lives of elderly at a local senior living community as an Activities Assistant for years. Even though, she was unable to go back to school due to personal circumstances, the compassion she showed towards others around her was something special as she took care of them as if they were relatives. Whenever I had free time, I would just sit and play a game with the elderly residents hearing their life stories from when they were young.
I believe a job as a certified nurse assistant will give me a better insight while working beside nurses and observe what set of skills nurses use. My strengths that best suit my personality and this program are determination, effort, caring, critical thinker, discipline, and enthusiastic. These qualities would reflect on a nurse and would make caring for the patient easier. I believe that I belong in the nursing field, because ever since I was a child, I always wanted to make a positive influence in people's lives.
My goal/plan for after high school is to go to Middlesex County College, to become a nurse. In order to achieve my my goal is to work hard. The obstacles I would face is probably time. I would go to hospitals and learn what other nurses do, I would get to know how important this job is. I would get to know specialist nurses that have been working for years.
Christian nurses are given the unique ability to provide compassionate and spiritual care to a variety of patients. The purpose of this paper is to explain my definition of nursing as a caring art, describe how Christian faith impacts caring, describe my personal philosophy of nursing while identifying my own personal values and beliefs, and discus how my beliefs impact my nursing practice. To me, nursing as an art of caring, is defined as caring for the whole person, building meaningful relationships, and providing compassionate care. Holistic nursing care involves healing a person physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I believe the art of nursing is embedded in the steps we take to address problems that are not simply physical.
We, as individuals of the human race and society are curious, inquisitive, and adventurous beings. We are constantly innovating and exploring new options on all fronts of academia, science, religion, and industry. We often stumble at times, yet overall due to competition of ideas we still prevail. My personal curiosity of exploration is in the field of Health as I seek to discover a solution to preventing illnesses before they start by focusing on children because what’s better than fixing the source of the problem by starting at the core of it all. I have been interested in the medical field for a few years now, particularly the the School of Nursing at George Mason University.
My long term goal would be to assist with the elderly as I’m very drawn to the geriatric community. My faith in Jesus Christ has guided me to fulfill my passion in becoming a nurse. I truly believe that becoming a nurse will help me to completely understand the value of human life. I
What does nursing mean to me? Nursing means helping people heal, meeting their needs while they are in your care, listening to concerns, protecting them from harm, and educating them how to care for themselves while treating them with dignity, compassion and respect. Nursing is giving of yourself to the care of people and community, while expecting nothing in return. It is having compassion for people and their health, being a humanitarian, and making sure patients receive the best care possible. Nurses must also deal with families of patients with gentleness and kindness, realizing they are going through a stressful situation also.
I am a person who has always had goals and I’ve been focused on the future. In first grade, I knew I wanted to go to Zoo School. It took a lot of hard work and effort to be accepted. And I am a better person because of it.
I feel that strength of mine in this domain would be advocating for my clients quality of care, analyzing my own nursing practice and understanding medications as part of the 7 rights. There was a incident where I had asked for assistance from another care provider on the floor to help with turning a changing a brief on my client. We had to use the lift to move the client to the bed and then I perform peri care. The client expressed their wish to stay in bed until dinner, which was in 3 hours. The other care provider had wanted to leave the sling under the client because it would be easier for when they had to move her back into the chair at dinner.
I can defiantly related to your comment of being challenged to balance the clinical hours with home, and work, especially since I already work 60+ hours a week and take call, however I am learning so much valuable information it keeps me energized knowing that I am enhancing both my knowledge of organizational development and leadership skills. It appears that you have gained immense clinical practicum experiences in the human resource arena along with your base knowledge of leadership concepts thus far, how exciting. I have not had been exposed to phone interviews, mainly panel discussion. I have had a few experiences hiring of employees and managing of difficult employees. One of my most recent experiences in dealing with a difficult employee was about a year
