In the past century there have been many movies, novels, and plays that both have plot twists and mood swings but you don’t find too much in the 1500s. Between the dates 1516 and 1616, a playwright by the name of William Shakespeare rose up to be the best writer in the English language. He was the Mark Twain of his century. He wrote many plays but one of which that was the most popular of his time was Romeo and Juliet. This is one of the most tragic love stories written in the 1590s that shows both passion and hate. Two families, the Capulets and the Montagues, are both rivals, however one person from each side falls in love with one another and soon end up together but not in the way anyone would imagine. Ever since Romeo and Juliet met the night at her father 's feast, they have been alive like a couple of teenagers usually are, however, when their mood changes in the middle to more of a solemn state they see what could 've happened differently. The result from their playfulness was their wedding and the result of their seriousness was the death of Tybalt which then led to Romeo’s banishment. When this banishment happened Juliet became more serious. Juliet became desperate and soon became serious. As she asks Friar Laurence for help to be with Romeo, he gives her a potion that acts like she is dead but really isn’t. Although someone would think that she would take the potion in a second to be with her loved one, she doesn’t and thinks of different possibilities. Once Juliet is alone in her room she asks many different questions, “What if it is a poison, which the friar Subtly hath ministered to have me dead” (IV.iii.25) is one where she makes assumptions. This shows that she is not being naive and is thinking about the potion before it actually happens. Although her serious mood makes her think a little more it doesn’t help and she takes it. Due to this plan both Romeo and Juliet soon end up dead. Their childish acts lead to marriage, it then leads to fights, soon to potions then finally death.
Two teenagers commended by one-another through the love that they seek has turned both of their personalities downhill resulting in their deaths. Their love blinded them of the importance of family and their own personal self. If Romeo and Juliet not have met and become madly in love with each other they both could have seen another day. Moreover, they would still stay the obedient and loyal to their parents not become the childish teenagers that they were portrayed
Romeo and Juliet have shown that they have intense love for each other, that becomes apparent when we see that they would die to be with each other. This couple shows and opens the eyes of their dearest ones to stop fighting with one another and open their hearts to one another. In the beginning of the story we are introduced to “two households both alike in dignity.” (document A), The Montagues and the Capulets.
In Act 5 scene 3, page 234 Juliet comes to Friar Laurence and asked him to help her get out of the marriage with Paris and Help her to get Romeo back so he decides to give her a potion to help. (Friar Lawrence- hold, daughter! i do spy a kind of hope, which craves as desperate and execution as that is desperate which we would prevent. If, rather than to marry county Paris, thou hast the strength of will to slay thyself,then is it likely thou wilt undertake a thing like death to chide away this shame, that cop'st with death himself to 'scape from it; and, if thou dar'st, ill give thee remedy.) After receiving the potion Juliet uses it tricking everybody into thinking shes dead even Romeo.
Even though he has planned this out to work perfectly for Romeo and Juliet this eventually leads to the young couple's demise. Friar Lawrence had given Juliet this potion in hopes that it will fake her seem dead to her parents in order to free her from her second

However, they can’t be together because of an old family feud between the two kids parents. The tragedy can be blamed on Romeo’s actions, fate, and the family feud.
The Capulets and Montagues were not on good terms with each other. Unfortunately though, Romeo and Juliet fell in love with each other regardless if they are from opposing families. Because of these families bad relationship, Romeo and Juliet were forced to marry in secret instead of publicizing it. These two lovers could have been straight-forward to their parents about their marriage, but they choose not to. The Friar is also guilty to these lovers death, but he only thought that this relationship between Romeo and Juliet be the cure to their families grudge for each other.

Throughout the play, a total of six characters will die including Romeo and Juliet. Lady Montague died of a heart attack and Mercutio, Tybalt, and Paris were murdered. Romeo and Juliet committed suicide but their deaths were not their faults. Although Romeo and Juliet took their own lives, brain development is actual cause of death in Romeo and Juliet.
At the end of act three Juliet found out Romeo was banned from Verona and she was grief stricken. Her parents then went back to the marriage to Paris,yet Juliet didn't love Paris, she was already engaged with Romeo. Juliet took the matters in her own hands and made it worse by going to friar Lawrence to seek advice. As Juliet talked to the Friar he gave her advice to drink a potion that he had made that will make her into a deathlike state that lasted for about two days, the instructions that he told Juliet was to go home and take the potion, parents or her nurse will notice and put her in their family tomb,finally when she awakes she will run off to Romeo and live happily. Juliet was worried for this idea and began to think over this process “How if, when I am laid into the tomb, I wake before the time Romeo come to redeem me?...”

Although the most popular relationship of the piece, Romeo and Juliet’s courtship in “Romeo and Juliet” was arguably one of the most unhealthy relationships of the play, and one of the most unhealthy in general. In this play, “Romeo and Juliet”, written by William Shakespeare, there are several examples of both good and bad relationships. When these two young lovers see each other at a party, they immediately become attracted to each other. However, they are from opposing families, with Romeo a part of the Montagues and Juliet a member of the Capulets. This family rival leads to Romeo tirelessly pursuing Juliet and ultimately, the tragic death of both of them.

Romeo and Juliet fall in love despite their families, the Montagues and the Capulets, being enemies. The two marry in secret and plan to live a happy life together before a deadly fight breaks out between the Montagues and the Capulets and the lovers are separated. The heartbreaking story consists of risky decisions and bad timing. Romeo’s own impulsive nature, demonstrated when he kills Juliet’s kinsman, breaks Verona’s law of banishment, and suicidal act, all contribute to the tragic end of Romeo and Juliet.
Heartbroken, he found Juliet’s body, still affected by the potion on her tomb. He drank a poisonous potion so he could die beside her. When Juliet did eventually awake, she was greeted with the sight of her dead lover and stabbed herself
Seeking to flee her father’s demands about marrying Paris, Juliet ran to Friar Lawrence in pursuit of a plan, or else threatening to take her own life. Once Friar Lawrence finally gave in to Juliet’s pleas, he comforted her by saying, “Let not the Nurse lie with thee in thy chamber. / Take thou this vial, being then in bed, / And this distilling liquor drink thou off” (4.1.92-94). This proposition made the entire Capulet family believe that Juliet was dead, but unfortunately it was not passed on to Romeo in the right means, which made him believe that Juliet was truly dead.
In “Romeo and Juliet” Shakespeare tells you at the end that Romeo and Juliet died from making rash decisions without thinking about the consequences. It is so relatable till date because people fall in love now as Romeo and Juliet did, families fight, as the Montagues and Capulets did. We can relate to each character in some. Which is what makes this play so compelling and lets it live, five hundred years later. Romeo and Juliet is a tragic tale of two lovers, separated by an epic feud of their two houses (Romeo a Montague and Juliet a Capulet.)
