“The blame Game” If i would have to pick any character in the book who caused all the problems i would have to say it was Romeo. I’m saying it’s romeo because he kept the marriage between him and juliet a secret, he killed tybalt, and he was very hasty. Friar laurence was responsible for marrying Romeo and Juliet. The nurse and them three was the only one’s that knew about it. If they wouldn’t have never kept the marriage a secret the prince wouldn’t have Romeo banned from the town and Romeo and Juliet could’ve lived happily ever after. In Romeo and Juliet the play, one might ask their self “Who’s fault would it be when Romeo and Juliet pass away?”. Some may say that it is fate since fate was against them since the beginning. Or some may blame Lord and Lady Capulet when they forced to marry Juliet to Paris, and Lady Capulet says “Speak briefly, can you like of Paris’ love?” (DBQ project: Who’s to Blame? Document B).
Around 1594 Shakespeare wrote the romantic tragedy Romeo and Juliet. This story has an intricate plot line; the two lovers prevail from rivaling families, after falling in love they marry and intend to run away to live together. From thereafter a series of actions taken by a number of the characters leads to their deaths. Despite the Nurse helping Juliet on numerous occasions, Friar Lawrence was at fault because he didn’t succeed in telling Romeo about the details of Juliet’s plan, created the plans that causes their deaths, and married the couple.
Romeo knew from past experiences and memories that Tybalt was hot-headed. Despite this, with one of his only friends was lying on the ground dying, his desperation led him to get revenge on Tybalt for killing his close friend Mercutio. Romeo grabbed a sword and fought Tybalt. Romeo ended up stabbing Tybalt who instantly fell. By killing Tybalt, not only did the archival Capulet family detest Romeo further, but Romeo also got banished from Verona.

The two kids fall in love everything goes downhill plans get ruined and in the end they both commit suicide with they dying the two families end the feud. The Capulets and Montagues were not on good terms with each other. Unfortunately though, Romeo and Juliet fell in love with each other regardless if they are from opposing families. Because of these families bad relationship, Romeo and Juliet were forced to marry in secret instead of publicizing it. These two lovers could have been straight-forward to their parents about their marriage, but they choose not to. The Friar is also guilty to these lovers death, but he only thought that this relationship between Romeo and Juliet be the cure to their families grudge for each other.

There are many people to blame, but the main three people with the biggest blame are Peter, Friar Lawrence, and Romeo himself. Peter is most to blame because of his lack of knowledge and desperate need for help. Friar Lawrence’s kind heart and Romeo’s need for lust also lead to the deaths of both Romeo and Juliet.
Lastly, Tybalt is the most to blame for the events that occur in Romeo and Juliet because of the the first events he caused leading to the suicides of Romeo and Juliet. The confirmation that Tybalt is the cause of the terrible events in Romeo and Juliet is shown in the play “Romeo and Juliet” when Romeo says, “Is it even so? then I defy you, stars! Romeo allows his thirst for revenge to cloud his logical reasoning when he kills Tybalt who has just murdered Mercutio, Romeo’s best friend. After Mercutio dies in Romeo’s arm, Romeo confronts Tybalt, seeking revenge for the death of his friend. Ultimately, he kills Tybalt before realizing his actions. Prince, trying to settle the scene, says, “His fault concludes but what the law should end, the life of Tybalt. (3.1.147)” Prince explains that because Tybalt murdered Mercutio, death was his punishment.

The hatred and tension between the Montagues and Capulets resulted in Romeo and Juliet’s marriage being kept a secret. They had no other choice then to confide their love for one another to the Nurse and Friar Laurence. Romeo and Juliet had warring parents who were not extremely involved in their everyday lives, therefore, the Nurse and Friar Laurence acted as parental figures toward them, guiding them through complicated situations to the best of their ability. These two characters wanted the best for the newlywed couple; however, both contributed to the tragic ending of Romeo and Juliet, making some of their guidance useful and some of it useless.
Can a depressed, eager man be the reason for the deaths of many people he cared for? Romeo Montague, son of the Montagues was a very narcissistic, self-centered, egotistical individual. Nevertheless, the most blameworthy character for all the deaths in Romeo and Juliet is the son of lord Montague, Romeo Montague.
