In the age before time, there was nothing, no galaxies, no stars, no planets, no humans, no life. The void was neither empty nor full, neither hot nor cold, it simply was. Then, there were the - and time began. No one knows where they came from, perhaps they had always been there, perhaps some higher being made them. Two of the beings gazed upon each other and became Known as the twin gods, Hyrog and Heim. The other being became Known as Gavit who refused to acknowledge the other two gods. Gavit picked a spot in what he deemed the center of the void and slept. The twins had all of eternity laid out before them and at first, that was enough; the twins were content to just be, eternal and wandering. After a time, however, Hyrog became agitated. …show more content…
This resentment festered until Gavit had worked himself up into a frenzy. He developed a plot to destroy the newest creations of the gods, their planets. Gavit decided to use his power to subtly nudge the nearest system and send it careening into the newly decorated system. As the gods rested to recharge their powers, Gavit deployed his attack and he watched with malevolence as the two systems collided. The resounding destruction was immediately noticed by the gods but there was little they could prevent as the damage was done. The wonderful planets and moons were now pockmarked with caters; many moons and one of the planets were completely demolished. Gavit, content with his chaos, turned his attention to other systems further out in the universe and had his fun destroying them as well. The gods were enraged at this attack but before they could retaliate, Silic noticed something. She noticed that the third planet in the system had an interesting phenomenon occurring. In a very deep part of the planet, something was moving. This thing was the start of life. It was something that none of the gods had been able to create, but with the chaos of the collision, the conditions of the planet were adjusted just right to allow the beginning of life. In light of this miracle, the gods decided to not draw attention to the wonder as Gavit might decide to destroy it out of spite. Instead, the gods left the system and began to spread their new ideas of creation across the universe. They created billions of new planets, some that could possibly hold life, others that never could. Gavit, while aware of their new creations, felt no pressing desire to extinguish these new planets. Instead, he used his influence to send an occasional asteroid shooting across the universe with the knowledge that, eventually, the asteroid would crash into one of their precious
Still, Vegeta feels it's intensity a suffocating sense to the air that stings him in the worse of ways. No nothing can compare to this aggitation, where was the woman? Where was the light and the power to run the gravity simulator which now serves as a voided entrapment. Squeezing anxiety contracted his innards, panic fluttering like a wayward bird within his breast. They were here, the
Eleven more of us were killed”(Wyndham, 9). Once again, the aliens were in despair when the Globe was taken from them by the huge creatures (humans). “They bent over it, put their front legs to it, and lifted that unbelievably heavy ball of metal from the ground. Then the ground shook again even more violently as they walked away carrying the extra weight. Our Globe, with all the precious things in it, is lost”(Wyndham, 11).
Mike rubbed his eyes. ‘Okay. Whatever. About those satellite orbits…?’ ‘I’m on vacation,’ Rich said without looking up” (Weir 181).
The tale of the Land of the Cyclopes is a very prominent feature in Odysseus’ story. Here we really see our hero show his skills in a multitude of ways. Not only does Ody trick a demigod but he also blinds him. The crew of men our protagonist brought to the island believes that they should off Polyphemus in his sleep, but in that moment Odysseus shows a higher understanding of the world.
"Seriously?" He thought. " Does Zeus have any idea how physically challenging this task is? However, he could not just let that star hit Mount Olympus. That would mean world destruction!
In the beginning there was only a path that was traveled by many, each from a different place. There were different Gods from other worlds and some were just there for the endless ride. Our god named Silas didn’t own a world yet because he had seen that they were hard work, but he knew he would eventually have to create one to live up to everyone 's expectations. One day he was traveling the path and came across a human, her name was December and she was from another land. They decided to walk together.
They are allowed to interfere with humans in certain ways to certain extents, they have rules, and by punishing/rewarding humans, they create an order of morals/hierarchy so they serve a purpose as well. This presentation of the gods reveals that the Greeks see them as powerful, smarter, and "magically" significant beings. I think that the story shows that they see the Gods to be like us, but with power and authority.
Another instance where a mortal angered the gods is after
In the beginning, during the darkness and before the world had taken its true form there was two Gods who ruled before time. Tepeu the Maker who had the form of man and Gucumatz the Feathered Spirt who had taken the form of a serpent with bright vibrant wings. Although the void around them was dark, these two gods glistened with bright vibrant colours that stood out above all. These two gods formed an alliance and created the world. Whatever they imagined took the shape of a solid form.
The relationships between the Greek gods and mortals have always been complicated. The gods can be generous and supportive, but also harsh and destructive towards the humans. They claim to be all powerful beings with unlimited power and influence, but in truth, they are far more human than they are perceived. They meddle with human lives, not because they are wise, but because of their own selfish reasons. In Homer’s
Soon the world had almost as many demigods as humans and they knew they could overrule the god Tomae. So they started preparing and making weapons the demigods were of all sorts water gods, fire gods, earth gods, and mystical gods, when the demigods were all prepared they started up to the heavens and told the humans to stay under a safe haven made of rock because they knew the fight would cause fires and floods and lightning they sent a couple of mystical gods to create food for the humans and keep them safe. After ten years of raging wars the demigods came back down to let the humans
In the epic poem The Odyssey, Homer portrays Greek gods and goddesses as possessing human qualities and faults. Through their actions and emotions, Homer emphasizes the detrimental effects of lust, envy, wrath, and greed in ancient Grecian society. He also never fails to remind readers of the importance of respect for holy figures because of their powerful abilities to create chaos and wonder". Homer wants to prove that gods and humans share a variety of traits, and the only difference is that god don’t allow these flaws negatively to impact their society. To help further his argument, we can compare Greek gods and goddesses to that of Christianity.
The Resemblance of Gods and Humans Throughout all religions, gods have always been seen as superior in every way possible. The division between humans and gods has always been prevalent and prominent. However, when the actions and motives of these gods are truly analyzed, it will become evident that the gods of Greek Mythology merely behave as humans with supernatural powers.
The belief system and the presence of God is one of the things many cultures and people have taken for granted. In Homer’s Odyssey, there is a presence of the gods which makes mortal to have the ability to talk to them, see them and even feel their presence around them. In this epic, what fascinated me is how the gods showed love towards odyssey throughout his journey. In the Greece empire, the power of the gods is the most constantly praised which Looking at the roles of the gods, Athena, goddess of wisdom and a daughter of Zeus admired the courage and faith in odyssey. Athena pleaded with his father by saying: father Zeus, whose power is supreme, if the blessed gods really do want Odysseus to return to his home, we should send Hermes, our quicksilver herald,
Nothing could be seen, the petals existence was questionable even to itself and an ever growing pressure from above continued to force it downward. The deeper it fell the heavier it felt, the harder it struggled the less progress it made. The disorientation was unfathomable, no landmarks for grounding, no
