The role that Martin Luther played in Protestant Reformation is quite immense, and it is hard to miss how the Bible helped him to achieve huge milestones relating to Renaissance and Reformation. From the excerpt, we can understand the spiritual transformation and awakening that Martin Luther underwent after his interaction with the Bible (Bingham, 2016). As R.C. According to history.com, “The Protestant Reformation was the 16th-century religious, political, intellectual and cultural upheaval that splintered Catholic Europe, setting in place the structures and beliefs that would define the continent in the modern era.” The Protestant Reformation began as a movement devoted to returning to ancient sources. According to the textbook, “ This religious movement initiated by sixteenth-century, Martin Luther, who openly criticized the corruption in the Catholic Church and voiced his belief that Christians could speak directly to God. Martin Luther was a Monk and a professor of theology. He questioned the pope and other religious people in his order for doing what he did not feel was acceptable.
The reformation brought with it widespread debate over Lutheran ideologies and Catholic ideologies. The Catholic church obviously did not approve of Luther’s ideas because they were a serious threat to the churches power. It is for this reason that the church made great attempts to crush Luther’s reformation to regain the trust of the people. One of these attempts to crush Luther’s reformation, was the work of Cardinal Cajetan. Cajetan wrote Faith and works to refute Luther’s ideas.
The Protestant Reformation started at 16th centery. During this time period, protestors refused to accept the traditional art: Catholic Art. Moverover, they and developed a new artistic trandion.Instead of creating very large art pieces(usually be displayed in churches), they started to produce smaller art, which they can carry around while they are traveling and worship at anytime they want. In the other word, the art tradition shifted from Southern art to Northern art. Another reason that caused this shifted was because of the changing of business center.

According to the textbook Martin Luther was one of the greatest guys from the renaissance. People believed that if you bought a slip of paper that you would go straight to heaven. Martin Luther didn’t believe that so he read the bible. “Through his study of the bible Luther arrived at an answer to a problem”(textbook pg.173). Martin Luther found out that “Catholic teaching had stressed that both faith and good works were needed to gain personal salvation”(textbook pg.173).
The Reformation was a time in Europe in the 1500s in which people questioned the beliefs of the Catholic Church. There were many changes made by the catholic church. The people that were responsible were Martin Luther, John Calvin and King Henry VIII. The Protestant Reformation of 16th century Europe was primarily the result of three men and their disagreements with the Catholic Church; Martin Luther, John Calvin, and King Henry VIII forever changed the religious landscape of Europe.
His statement is giving freedom for people to read and understand the bible for themselves for the first time ever. He believed that people should be in charge of their church not the Pope. According to Luther, “...the Pope and his followers are wicked and not true Christians, and not being taught by God, have no true understanding.” (Luther 5) This proclamation declares that Luther considers the Pope and his follower to have no true understanding of God, because they have not been taught by God himself.

Luther was a warrior fighting in the frontline to against the Catholic, bring out the new ideas to the public.
Luther wished to extend freedom, and looking back at the quote, "this faith cannot exist in connection with works." ( Martin Luther) As Luther put more importance on faith alone than works, he wanted to show people were able to reach salvation through faith, not just acts. (Weaver and Brakke 90). An example would be Luther translating scripture into German, making it available to people.
The focal regulation of the Congregation that Luther was conflicting with was the teaching of salvation by works, which expressed that to be saved, one should do acts of kindness and have a decent life. This teaching depended on the conviction that salvation was a compensation for good deeds and that it was feasible to procure one's place in Paradise by doing what's necessary benevolent acts. This was as a conspicuous difference to Luther's situation, which was that salvation comes through confidence in God and His elegance, not through human works.
The five landmarks in the Protestant Reformation that were significate were Martin Luther , the 95 theses, the printing press, the translation of the bible into German, & Calvinism. The Roman Catholic Church was overrun with ambitious individuals who sought power and control. These landmarks were all significant in reforming the Roman Catholic Church in its beliefs and practices. Martin Luther is the primary source for beginning the Protestant Reformation. Luther publicly criticized the Catholic Church and its authority.
Various religions have made a great turning point on European history. One of the most notable figures of European history, a German theologian and religious reformer named Martin Luther, had so much passion about his faith of God. This man leaves a mark on European history for having the courage to lead a revolution against the Catholic Church. He felt that the Catholic Church’s practices were impractical. Martin Luther made a great, positive impact as a religious leader during the Protestant Reformation by his successful achievements as a theologian, starting and spreading the Protestant Reformation to many parts in Europe, and creating his own Lutheran Church.
I think that Martin Luther’s life and accomplishments have had the greatest impact on our modern world. “Martin Luther began the Reformation in the early sixteenth century” (171-174). He also wrote the 95 thesis. Without Martin Luther today may not be anything like it is, everyone may have had to be only one religion, people may not have been able to express their feeling the way we can now. “By 1520 Luther had begun to move toward a more definite break with the Catholic Church” (174).
Law and Gospel: Luther looked at the law of the Old Testament, particularly the Law of Moses and the gospel as different. He said that the gospel replaces the law. Therefore, he saw a sharp gap between the way God dealt with people in the Old Testament and the way God deals with people today. He identified the purposes of the law as civil and theological.
