Jorge Vela Mrs. Quintana TR1 May 25, 2016 Urim and Thummim The Hebrew bible reveals the valued beliefs of many Jews who practice this particular religion. Two particular mysterious objects that can be explained in the Hebrew bible are Urim and Thummim. Urim is associated with light whereas Thummim is implied to be its polar opposite, darkness. Urim and Thummim are religious objects that are found to be connected with the breastplate of the high priest. The stones Urim and Thummim appear as round white and black stones that have a writing on each of them in the opposite color. These two objects were used for the purpose of divinity, such as a divine oracle. Urim and Thummim serve the purpose of playing an important role in revealing God 's judgement.
