William Shakespeare was a great English poet, actor and playwright born in the 16th century. He was well known for his creations. Most people would say he was the world’s greatest dramatist and the finest poet produced. William Shakespeare’s 38 plays, a sequence of sonnets, two major narrative poems, and several other poems have been translated into many different languages. He has been a vital part of the theater since they were written over 400 years ago. Shakespeare’s have attracted large audiences from almost every part of the world. During this period, Shakespeare ranked as London’s most popular playwright. Few people gave him the praise that he gets now. Shakespeare did not put his name on his earliest published plays, but in 1598 he put his name on the title page of Love’s Labour’s Lost. After that he put his name on his plays.In 1599, a printer named William Jaggard published The Passionate Pilgrim, a collection of 20 poems supposedly written by Shakespeare. However, the volume had only five sonnets by Shakespeare, three taken from Love’s Labour’s Lost. By the end of the 1590’s, Shakespeare’s reputation was being used to sell books. And he had not yet written most of his saddest tragedies, such as Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, and Macbeth. In 1599 He became part of the first group of actors to also own their own theater. Although owning his own theater meant considerable financial risk. But it also promised to be profitable if the the theater became a success.
