While the merits and demerits of automation will always be debated because like every invention it has pros and cons and also it entirely depends upon the operator. However the trends have to be looked upon, too much automation is not at all an option because a man in the loop must be there. Not all situations could be fed into the automated system and till the time Artificial intelligence surpasses human intellect this will remain a reality. Machines, like humans, are prone to failure and when that happens; an able operator should be there to take control of the situation.
