William Henry Harrison was the 9th President of the United States and member of the Whig Party. He held the office of the President for one month from March 4, 1841 to April 4 before dying of pneumonia. As an Army general, Harrison defeated Indian resistance in the Northwest Territory. He served 12 years as governor of the Indiana Territory, expanding territory to settlers by obtaining Indian land titles.
