American Road & Transportation Builders Association

The American Road & Transportation Builders Assn. (ARTBA) is "the only national organization that focuses exclusively on transportation construction issues." It consists of 4,000 members representing "the nation's leading transportation contractors, equipment manufacturers, planning and design firms, material and professional service suppliers, educators, government officials, and public/private ventures participants." This site provides information about the history of ARTBA, its divisions, and membership services. It also provides recent ARTBA news releases, policy positions, and legislative issues affecting the industry as well as links to other transportation construction sites.

Excellent links to environmentally-friendly, sustainable design resources. This site also provides full-text research reports and publications on new building tehcnologies, green architecture, and economical design.
Golf Course Builders Association of America

"The Golf Course Builders Association of America is a nonprofit trade association of the world's foremost golf course builders and leading suppliers to the golf course construction industry. It was founded in the early 1970s, and its members represent all segments of the golf course construction industry. It is the only organization in the world organized by and for golf course builders, and the only organization that represents the interests of the golf course construction industry. The Association also endeavors to provide comprehensive programs and services to construction contractors and specialists in regard to the changing regulations and technology of golf course construction." The bi-monthly newsletter is available online as is the members directory and information about professional certification.

The Association's web site has resources for both consumers and professionals relating to building regulations and home ownership.
National Association of Women in Construction

"NAWIC is a professional association of women working in construction and construction-related industries. It was established in 1955 by 16 founding members. Today, there are more than 6,000 members in the United States and Canada." This site provides very general information about the organization, its activities, and publications.
