Country Music Association

The Country Music Association, a not-for-profit mutual interest membership organization, was founded in 1958 to promote country music. The association works throughout the world, with the music industry, to "establish country music as a mainstream format." CMA's activites include industry honors, such as its highly coveted CMA Awards; the CMA Awards are telecast yearly on network television. The association also sponsors educational seminars and disseminates "facts and figures that evidence Country Music's considerable popularity.
