It is the "National Governing Body of Softball, pursuant to the Amateur Sports Act of 1978. The ASA regulates competition to insure fairness and equal opportunity." The site includes information on tournaments and sections for youth players, adult players, and umpires. There is also information on the National Softball Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City.
