The AJAO's mission is "to serve as an advocate for, and work to improve the quality of life for children with rheumatic diseases and their families, specifically by working toward improved medical care, providing collective and individual advocacy, stimulating research and providing education and support". This site contains information on juvenile arthritis, the lastest treatment options, registration for summer camps, and strategies for dealing with teachers.

The Arthritis Foundation is a non-profit foundation dedicated to finding new treatment procedures, funding research for a cure and to improving the quality of life for those afflicted with this disease. The Arthritis Foundation website has information useful to health practicioners, arthritis sufferers and their families, and educators. The site includes articles on legislative advocacy, a FAQ on arthritis, facts and trends of arthritis sufferers, a large collection of news releases related to the disease, research funding and information, a list of helpful resources and information on becoming a member.
Avenues: A National Support Group for Arthrogryposis

"AVENUES is support group for individuals, families, and medical professionals interested in Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC). AMC is a congenital condition characterized by multiple joint contractures." This site contains an explanation of AMC and its treatments, directories of health practitioners and facilities specializing in AMC, a bibliography of AMC related materials, a list of support groups and pen pals, and issues of the AVENUES newsletter.

"The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) is one component of the National Institutes of Health, the principal biomedical research agency of the United States Government. The NIAMS conducts and supports basic, clinical, and epidemiologic research and research training and disseminates information on many of the most debilitating diseases affecting the Nation's health. These diseases include the many forms of arthritis and diseases of the musculoskeletal system and the skin. The Institute also conducts and supports basic research on the normal structure and function of joints, muscles, bones, and skin." This World Wide Web site was set up to provide information (NIAMS) and its programs and activities and inludes news, health information, links to other resources, and grant application information.
National Psoriasis Foundation

Information about psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, treatment, and research from the National Psoriasis Foundation. There's a list of frequently asked questions, statistics, and a special section for kids and teens. The NPF is "a membership organization comprised of people who have psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, their family members, friends, physicians, nurses, researchers and corporations. We've united in order to improve the quality of life for people who have psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, to educate the public about psoriasis and to support psoriasis research."
