American Watercolor Society

National society for watercolor painters. AWS holds an annual juried exhibition that is open to all artists worldwide, as well as several traveling exhibitions throughout the year. Their site includes exhibition schedules, images from past and present exhibitions, a calendar of events, and membership information.

"The goals of the National Watercolor Society are to encourage interest and excellence in watermedia paintings by providing quality exhibitions and to act as an educational channel to pertinent information, exhibition opportunities, and beneficial programs to artists and their public. Site features membership information, regional contacts, information on exhibiting in yearly shows, and contact information for the Society's rental collection of educational slides.

"The purpose of the Midwest Watercolor Society is to advance the stature of transparent watercolor as a major expression and to foster its appreciation. Since its founding in 1975, the society has sought to accomplish this through its annual national exhibition, which is recognized as one of the finest in the country. Our membership includes dedicated artists from all over the United States and Canada, who share a passion for watercolor and seek an outlet for its benefit and expression."
