The Prohibition Party, founded in 1869, is the third oldest political party in the United States. It originally had two primary concerns: national prohibition and suffrage (women's right to vote). In general, the Prohibition Party was concerned about protection of home and family. It has run a presidential candidate during every election year. Today, its platforms covers such issues as the right to life, homosexuality, religious liberty, illegal immigration, and the right to own guns.
