- The mission of Al-Anon/Alateen is to provide "hope and help for families and friends of alcoholics. The Al-Anon Family Groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope, in order to solve their common problems. We believe alcoholism is a family illness, and that changed attitudes can aid recovery." The Al-Anon/Alateen web site contains information on joining the organization, questionnaires to identify problem drinking, and an on-line magazine. The 12 Step and 12 Tradition programs are described. You can order literature on-line and there is a special section of information for professionals.
