This site provides the latest medical news, fact sheets, conferences and events, and addresses to contact for membership.
American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging

"The American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) represents not-for-profit organizations dedicated to providing high-quality health care, housing and services to the nation's elderly. Its membership consists of over 5,000 not-for-profit nursing homes, continuing care retirement communities, senior housing facilities, assisted living and community services... Through education, advocacy, grassroots action and coalition work, AAHSA influences public policy pertaining to health, housing, community and related services to ensure that the aging population receive the services they need, and to protect and enhance the viability of not-for-profit providers." The site has an extensive consumer issues section, with information such as how to find the right nursing home. There's also information, including current job postings, for those who work with seniors.

The AARP has compiled a lot of information for seniors together in this site. There is information about legal issues relating to retired persons as well as informational essays about lifestyle changes, family, money management, working etc. Further, there is information about volunteer and community programs in which retired persons can either donate their time or get support.
American Society on Aging

The membership includes representatives of the public and private sectors, service providers, researchers, educators, advocates, health, allied health, social service, managed care and long-term care and mental health professionals, students and the retired, policy makers and planners. National Association of Area Agencies on Aging

National Citizens' Coalition For Nursing Home Reform

Pennsylvania Association of Area Agencies on Aging

"PAAAA is a membership organization of Pennsylvania's 52 Area Agencies on Aging. The PA Association of Area Agencies on Aging acts as an advocate for Seniors in Pennylvania. PAAAA also acts to disseminate information to Area Agencies on Aging regarding issues relating to the elderly. PAAAA also coordinates a training program for Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging staff. In addition,PAAAA helps to organize such things as co-operative printing for the 52 Area Agencies on Aging in Pennsylvania. Overall, PAAAA acts as one voice in Pennsylvania reprensenting the 52 Area Agencies on Aging. PAAAA is a non-profit organization. Seniors Coalition

The Seniors Coalition is a non-profit, 501c(4), non-partisan, education and issue advocacy organization that represents the interests and concerns of America's senior citizens at both the state and federal levels. They publish "The Advocate," an online magazine. The site includes information about Social Security and other issues faced by seniors, news updates, and articles from "The Advocate."
