Marcus Belgrave with Detroit's Jazz Piano Legacy

Marcus Belgrave describes himself as "born into bebop." He spent time on the road with Ray Charles and in New York before settling in Detroit in the '60s. Beneficiaries of his musical mentoring include pianist Geri Allen, bassist Robert Hurst and saxophonist Kenny Garrett.

On his composition "All My Love": Belgrave (trumpet), Tommy Flanagan (piano), Peter Washington (bass), Lewis Nash (drums). Available through Detroit Jazz Musicians Co-op, P.O. Box 36426, Grosse Pointe, MI 48236.
