Crossover Island Light

"Crossover Island, New York"

Built: 1882

"Crossover Island is a small strip of land in the middle of the St. Lawrence River about halfway between Alexandria Bay and Moristown. The light is located on the island's northeastern tip. This is the point where ships traveling the St. Lawrence Seaway crossover from Canadian to American waters. Completely rebuilt in 1882, this light replaced the original 1848 light."
