Sturgeon Point Light (MI-Winter)

"Alcona County, Michigan"

Built: 1869

"Jutting out gently into Lake Huron, the Sturgeon Point requires this lighthouse to warn mariners of not only the shoreline, but a strip of gravel that runs out into the water before ending in a sand bar. This still operating lighthouse and its dwelling were refurbished and repainted by the Alcona County Historical Society and now serves as a museum. "
