Geitungen Light

"Karmøy, Norway"

Built: 1924
Automated: 1994

"This Spanish style building with a 11.2 m (37 ft) tall light tower in the middle of it, is located on the island of Geitebryggå along the southwest coast of Norway. Having replaced a smaller light which was in the harbor of Skudeneshavn, this second order lens is 41 m (135 ft) above sea level. It can be seen from 17.8 nautical miles out to sea. The nearby town hopes to be able to purchase the building and fix it up for visitors."
