Emerson Blackhorse Mitchell, 1945-

Emerson Blackhorse Barney Mitchell was born near Shiprock, New Mexico. Mitchell attended the Intermountain Indian School, the Institute of American Indian Arts in Sante Fe, New Mexico, and Fort Lewis College. Mitchell has taught Navajo Social Studies at Rock Point Community School in Chinle, Arizona and Navajo Music at Rough Rock Demonstration School.
