Blacksnake (Thaonawyuthe) , 1760-1859

Seneca

Blacksnake was born 1760 and died in 1859. He was the chief who fought for the English at Oriskany, New York in 1777. In the war of 1812 he fought on the side of the United States against the English in the Battle of Fort George. He lived along the Aleghany River in Cattaraugus County, New York.
