Mary Brave Bird , 1953-Lakota
Mary Brave Bird (aka Mary Crow Dog) was born in 1953, on the Rosebud reservation in South Dakota. She is known for her autobiographies Lakota Woman and Ohitika Woman. She is a political activist and joined the American Indian Movement (AIM) in 1971.
