Joseph Dion was born in 1888 and died in 1960. He wrote, My Tribe, the Crees and was at work on this book when he died. Dion was a school teacher, farmer, writer and an important political leader among the Crees and the Metis. Dion saw the early reservation days as the years of unity and fellow-feeling.
