Cheryl Metoyer is a Cherokee educator and librarian who has served as a consultant and researcher on library services. She earned a Master of Library Science degree in 1969 from Immaculate Heart College in Los Angeles and a Ph.D. in Library Science at Indiana University in 1976. She has worked as Assistant Dean at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of California in Los Angeles. Most recently, she has served as the Director of Information Resources at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center.
