Robert Franklin Gish
, 1940-
Robert Gish was born 1940, in Albuquerque, NM. He received his Ph.D from the University of Mexico in 1972. Gish firmly believes that it is through the rediscovery of the land and its indigenous peoples, and through understanding of minority cultures and viewpoints, that the Anglo-European culture of the United States will adapt and evolve. He was professor of English and Literature at the University of Northern Iowa from 1967-91, and has most reciently has retired as Director of Ethnic Studies and Professor of English and Ethnic Studies at California Polytechnic State University.
