Muriel Hazel Wright
, 1889-1975

Choctaw

Ms. Wright was a teacher and historian who also actively participated in the governance of the Choctaw Nation. Wright wrote numerous articles, edited The Chronicles of Oklahoma, wrote three textbooks about Oklahoma history for use in the public schools, and produced a reference work on Oklahoma's native tribes.
