United States Bureau of the Census Statistical Briefs
http://www.census.gov/apsd/www/statbrief/
Statistical briefs are succinct 2- to 4-page reports issued occasionally and providing timely data on specific issues of public policy. Presented in narrative style with graphs, the reports summarize data from demographic surveys of the U.S. population. Other statistical briefs describe the nation's economic activity and are prepared by the Census Bureau's Center for Economic Studies. These Briefs are a series of documents that present information of current policy interest. They may include data from businesses, households, or other sources. All statistics are subject to sampling variability, as well as survey design flaws, respondent classification errors, and data processing mistakes. The Census Bureau has taken steps to minimize errors, and analytical statements have been tested and meet statistical standards. However, because of methodological differences, use caution when comparing these data with data from other sources. Briefs for 1993 to 1996 are available on the site; beginning in December, 1996 they were renamed Census Briefs and are available as PDF Files.

Possibly sick of this fact by now, Levine was awestruck at the power of information superhighway rather early on (1992 or so) and has now devoted at least her blog to helping librarians become tech savvy.

Computers and the History of Art

Initially a forum for the exchange of ideas between people who were using computers in their research, the largely academic membership was soon augmented by members from museums and art galleries, as well as individuals involved in the management of the visual and textual archives and libraries relevant to the subject. CHArt is a society open to all who have an interest in the application of computers to the study of art and design. We publish an international refereed journal, Computers and the History of Art, run an annual conference and award prizes for research and student computer projects relevant to the study of art or design history.
