Black Education: From Charleston to Harlem

Hosted by "North by South," the final product of a year long seminar researching the migration of African Americans from south to north. Black Education explores the educational philosophies of Booker T. Washington and WEB DuBois. Brown Foundation for Educational Equity, Excellence and Research

The site of the Brown Foundation presents information related to the "Brown v. Board of Education" case. The website contains an online photo and text exhibit, an online tour of Brown family historic sites, timelines, legal case descriptions, research resources, and a bibliography list for further learning.
Freedmen's Bureau

The site contains historical informaiton about the Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands. "The Freedmen Bureau, as it was commonly called, was to address all matters concerning refugees and freedmen within the states that were under reconstruction." Site offers images, primary sources, and links to other resources.
Negro Periodicals in the United States

"The Negro Periodicals In the United States" was published in 1970. It deals with "early serialized publications on the African American as a subject." While it does not contain the contents of these publications, this web resource provides an annotated bibliography of each journal and facilitates locating historical information and primary sources.
