This official site of the U.S. Department of Agriculture provides Department information as well as resources organized by audience and subject. Links to agencies within the USDA are helpful as well as links to USDA Publications, such as the Agricultural Fact Book. It also contains information on the Department, such as services and news. Users can perform both basic and advanced searches, and browse by audience (i.e., Consumers, Cooperatives, Producers) or by subject (i.e., Food and Nutrition, Laws and Regulations, Marketing and Trade). The site is also available in Spanish.

This official site of the Department of Commerce provides Department information as well as resources organized by subject. Some of the information available includes information on news, employment at the Commerce Department, the economy and a place to submit information to the Commerce Department via the e-gov. This site is also available in Spanish.

This website is the main site for the United States Department of Defense. It includes news related to the Dept. of Defense and links to the agencies and military areas (Army, Navy Airforce, etc.) and currently a section on the War on Terror.

Compiles a variety of information relating to government initiatives and educational programs at all levels, education-related grants (look under OERI) and statistics (NCES), and departmental publications. News bulletins about department activities are added frequently. Statistics retrieval is unreliable, but otherwise the information provided seems current. It also provides access to individual state education departments. Searchable index and searchable department phone directory available.

"The U.S. Department of Labor is charged with preparing the American workforce for new and better jobs, and ensuring the adequacy of America's workplaces. It is responsible for the administration and enforcement of over 180 federal statutes. These legislative mandates and the regulations produced to implement them cover a wide variety of workplace activities for nearly 10 million employers and well over 100 million workers, including protecting workers' wages, health and safety, employment and pension rights; promoting equal employment opportunity; administering job training, unemployment insurance and workers' compensation programs; strengthening free collective bargaining and collecting, analyzing and publishing labor and economic statistics." The searchable DOL website includes information about the department and its agencies, labor laws and trends, press releases, texts of regulations, and information from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Mine Safety and Health Administration.
