The Chemical Engineers' Resource Page
http://www.cheresources.com/popular_titles.shtml
"Includes links to experts, discussion of optimization of chemical processes, design and laboratory reports (complete, online examples), spreadsheet solutions, some links to other useful sites, and an answer to 'why become a chemical engineer?'"
History of Chemical Engineering & Chemical Technology
http://www.pafko.com/history//h_intro.html
Useful for non-chemists interested in the growth and development of chemical engineering as a profession. It includes a history of the industry, references to this century's contributions, a timeline of events, an extensive bibliography, and various special features and charts describing, for example, energy resources, nitrogen, growth of chemical engineering education and wages. Although not searchable, this resource has a useful table of contents and is easy to navigate. Appropriate resource for younger students.
IPCS Inchem
http://www.inchem.org/
"Authoritative information about the hazards of chemicals is essential if they are to be used safely. IPCS INCHEM consolidates a wide variety of information produced by a number of international bodies whose goal is to assist in the sound management of chemicals. IPCS INCHEM provides a means of rapid access to information on chemicals commonly used throughout the world, which may also occur as contaminants in the environment and food."
NIST Chemistry WebBook
http://webbook.nist.gov/
"The NIST WebBook will provide access to the full array of data compiled and distributed by NIST under the Standard Reference Data Program. The NIST Chemistry WebBook contains: Thermochemical data for over 6000 organic and small inorganic compounds; Enthalpy of formation; Enthalpy of combustion; Heat capacity;Entropy;Phase transition enthalpies and temperatures;Vapor pressure; Reaction thermochemistry data for over 9000 reactions;Enthalpy of reaction;Free energy of reaction;IR spectra for over 8700 compounds;Mass spectra for over 12,000 compounds;UV/Vis spectra for over 400 compounds;Electronic and vibrational spectra for over 4000 compounds; Constants of diatomic molecules (spectroscopic data) for over 600 compounds; Ion energetics data for over 16,000 compounds; Thermophysical property data for 33 fluids; You can search for data on specific compounds in the Chemistry WebBook based on name, chemical formula, CAS registry number, molecular weight, chemical structure, or selected ion energetics and spectral properties."

What is the IPL?

The Internet Public Library is a public library for the world wide web.
Students from a consortium of colleges and universities with programs in information science develop and maintain the IPL!
Here are some of the partners in the IPL Consortium. A complete list is found on the IPL Consortium page.
