She stares the pitcher in the eye. Her body, relaxed and loose, ready to bust on the ball. The pitcher pitches the ball, it heads down the middle of the plate. WHAM!!! She hits the ball and it flies into center field, scoring 3 runs for her softball team, winning the game. Her name is Adeline. Adeline is just a normal girl who plays softball and goes to school, she just got accepted into Harvard. But none of this really happened. Adeline is a victim of cyber bullying. She was bullied so much that she decided that she would follow what everyone was telling her to do. She jumped off a bridge, ending her life right then and there. Many teenagers are victims of cyber bullying. It is a common thing that has a big effect on people. Some people's grades drop, some become more distant, some lose interest in the things they used to love doing, some commit suicide. Individuals should be prosecuted for statements made on social media. …show more content…

Causing them to sometimes go as far as self-harm and suicide because of it. In source one, the radio interview, it states, "…in order for a behavior to be defined as cyberbullying...repeated, hostile, and severe... with the intent to embarrass, threaten, or harass." These are the many different motives for an individual to cyberbully someone. Many teenagers are affected by cyberbullying, over social media, over text message, over e-mail, you name it teenagers have found a way to somehow harass the victim. It may even be as simple as a negative comment on a post on Facebook, a social media platform. Even though the person could 'unplug' which means to stop using social media and other devices. It would be extremely hard for some people because technology has become a part of our everyday
