According to the National Institute of Health, “Intrinsic motivation is defined as the doing of an activity for its inherent satisfaction rather than for some separable consequence. When intrinsically motivated, a person is moved to act for the fun or challenge entailed rather than because of external products, pressures, or rewards' ' (Oudeyer P-Y, Kaplan F). AdvoCare operates as a multilevel marketing company. This means distributors earn commissions for selling products and recruiting new distributors and clients. However, Advocare has faced several lawsuits in the past couple years. One of the claims is that advocare operated a pyramid scheme and made misleading claims about the income that the different distributors were making when in fact, most distributors were losing money. This lawsuit also alleged that Advocare incentivized distributors to recruit new distributors rather than selling to retail customers. This contradicts the mission statement of AdvoCare, which states that they look after all of their customers, and not just incentivising their distributors. Lastly, it was found that clients were pressured to become a distributor to ensure they would receive discounts. However, these discounts were discontinued unless these distributors found new distributors. Which is an aggressive tactic and a way to focus on recruitment instead of product quality. When looking at the accused, AdvoCare did go to court where they were found guilty of operating a pyramid scheme and were ordered to give up $150 million to a class-action lawsuit and promised to give up their multi-level marketing business model (Vedova H, Gressin S, Fair L, Atleson M). The lawsuit that AdvoCare faced is unfortunate, however this diet plan can fit someone's lifestyle. All they need to do is just

Ever since Dr. Robert Atkins helped to popularize the low-carb lifestyle with his own version of the low-carb diet, the possible consequences and health risks have been argued with the supposed benefits. The article is able to use these facts and statistics as a driving force and since it shows several credible sources it is able to directly contribute to ethos, which adds a greater sense of credibility to the overall article itself. The website’s explanatory section approaches the topic much like the first article I analyzed. Like the first article, it focuses on using logos to explain how the diet works and why it is successful for many. As logos is used, it increases the credibility and trustworthiness found in the piece.
These motivations are the reason an individual participates in the activity, either for an intrinsic or extrinsic reward. In my swimming career I have noticed that Motivation of an athlete varies based on the individual and can be applied accordingly by the coach when coach/athlete relationship is increased. An example of an intrinsic motivated individual was when I was shown a lane of individuals that weren’t necessarily the strongest swimmers but included a few athletes that are doing a second sport. I was informed that many of them compete for their personal enjoyment. These swimmers strived for personal improvement by some of the swimmers putting personal goals on their kickboard as they kicked.

Intrinsic motivation refers to performing an activity for it own sake and the joy received from it. Extrinsic motivation refers to performing an activity for some external reward, such as money or food. Between extrinsic and intrinsic motivation, there are five levels of motivation, differing by their level of self-determination. First is amotivation, in which an athlete has no extrinsic or intrinsic reasons for continuing their sport or activity. Next, external regulation refers to an athlete performing an activity to fulfil an external demand or for an external reward, such as a paycheck.
Growing up in a small, rural community the majority of the population was uninsured and underserved. Access to primary healthcare was limited with most physicians’ offices being close to an hour drive one way. I grew up seeing both of my parents work two jobs and still having to make the decision to put their health on the back burner due to lack of finances or insufficient insurance coverage. This often led to numerous emergency department visits because of the lack of access to a primary care physician who could have provided preventative care. This was not only an issue within my home but throughout the town.
RIAS marketing has carried out extensive market research using online and direct surveys as well as existing customer feedback (Voice of the customer platforms and Trust pilot) to create a tailored approach to these attitudes. This has given them a strong understanding of how its customer base makes its decisions on which provider to select and how they can influence that provider to be RIAS. The result of this market research has identified that Brand Presence and recommendations/ratings from independent financial information businesses, such as DEFAQTO [10], are key contributors to identifying and winning new customers. • Brand Presence Research carried out by Huang, Rong & Sarigollu, Emine. (2012), confirm that brand awareness “has a positive correlation with brand forming part of the consumer decision making.”
Individuals are motivated by external rewards or recognition. The motivation to engage in the activity comes from the desire to attain something external such as a social reward or money. It is important that both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation is used to obtain the optimal level of motivation. Extrinsic motivation can have a crowding out effect on intrinsic motivation when it is used in the means of controlling.
Over the past 51 years of the company they have acquired quite a few acquisitions which have led to their huge growth over the decades. CVS Health’s most recent acquisition was Navarro Discount Pharmacies based in Miami. Another strategy they use in the innovative feature which is meant to distinguish them from their competitors. Similarly, integrated extrinsic motivation involves greater motivation compared to external extrinsic motivation. External motivation relates to actions that are performed for an external demand, to obtain a reward, or to avoid condemnation. If people can’t do something, for sure they will tell you can’t do it too. And if you want something, go and get it. (Will Smith Movie Quotes That Will Motivate You Through Adversity, n.d.). Motivation can further divided into two subtypes which are intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation is the motivation that comes from inner side of one self and urges him in doing something no matter what is the external reward given.
