Faucette had no love for her husband and was actually thrown into prison for adultery and called a whore after a fight with Lavien. Once released from prison she left her young son and husband and escaped the marriage to St. Kitts with her mother. Once on St. Kitts she met James Hamilton in 1751 the son of a Scottish

Alexander Hamilton, the first Secretary of Treasury of the United States, had a lot going for himself being a man that came from poverty to success, and he was a man “all powerful and fails at nothing which he attempts” admitted a congressman in 1791 (Tindall and Shi). Born in the Caribbean in the West Indies, abandoned by his father and orphaned at the age of 13 by his late mother who had died. Later moved to New York, became a lawyer and transitioned to nationalism thus giving him the important role of handling the weight of the debt America had accumulated $54 million deep after the Revolutionary War (Digital History). Hamilton saw the need for some financial credit to be given to America and he had the right idea by proposing a National Bank to his first president George Washington. Word dispersed of that proposal leading a
With President George Washington leading the nation, there were two visionaries who helped shape our nation. Their opposing views aide in understanding where the Government stood and the economic visions of these two men in the 1790’s. Alexander Hamilton vision of leading the nation was to push the country forward, organizing, and more modern. Thomas Jefferson was an agrarian who believed in keeping order and only that congress should only take action when absolutely necessary. On December 14, 1790 Hamilton, the Secretary of the Treasury’s Report on a National Bank was introduced.
John Quincy Adams born July 11, 1767 in Brantree, Massachusetts. Son of john and Abigail Adams he was born into a very wealthy family. This mostly because of his father was the Second President of the United States and owned a lot of land. So this already gave him a good name in politics. When John Quincy Adams was a young man he attended Harvard University, he graduated from Harvard when he was 26 years old.
The topic I would be doing would be on/about Alexander Hamilton in regards to The Federalist Papers. This topic is significant, because it draws on the Founding Father whose writing influenced/shaped the composition of the Early American Republic, and has given rise to many institutions/developments that can be traced to this day. As quite a controversial and well-debated document, The Federalist Papers was designed as a series of essays used to defend the Constitution—upon which we still call upon today. The five sources that provide a basic foundation to begin the project are: “To Begin the World Anew” by Bernard Bailyn, “The Political Psychology of the Federalist” by Daniel Walker Howe, “Ethos in Law and History: Alexander Hamilton,
Alexander Hamilton was born on January 11, 1755 in Charlestown, Saint Kitts and Nevis. Alexander had a very tragic childhood, only to grow up to attend school at King’s College, create the First National Bank, and he was the first Secretary of Treasury. He was a very busy man. Alexander Hamilton was the son of Rachel Fawcett Lavien and James Hamilton. At the time of his birth, Rachel was actually married to another man named John Lavien, but she left him.
Alexander Hamilton and other Federalists had a distinct vision for the direction America would take. They believed the country required a strong national government with a centralized authority, a complex commercial economy, and a significant presence in world affairs. (American History, p170). Thomas Jefferson and his followers envisioned a nation that would progress in a different direction. They believed the nation should focus on agriculture and remain mostly rural.
Alexander Hamilton was from the Caribbean Islands. He was very poor and lived in a small house in a small community where they had a landlord who owned all of those properties. When he was ten his mother left his father and took him but, she told him that his father left them (he believed it because his father was the one who moved out not them). Two years later Alexander and his mother were deathly sick, weeks later Alexander got better but his mother was still sick then a week later a hurricane came and
In his early life in 1773 when he was around 16 years old, Hamilton arrived in New York where he enrolled in King's College Hamilton was drawn more too political involvement than he was to academics. He wrote his first political article defending the Patriots' cause against the interests of pro-British Loyalists. Became a quick learner Hamilton deemed himself quite capable of becoming a self-made man. Alexander Hamilton is remembered as an important part of United States history. He was recognized as the first appointed Secretary of the Treasure in the Unites States during the time he held his office he worked a lot and established a very powerful financial system.
“Alexander Hamilton, a delegate to the Constitutional Convention and major author of the Federalist papers, was the United States' first secretary of the treasury” (Biography.com). From the Revolutionary War to his fatal death, Alexander Hamilton did many things throughout his life and is one of the many people that helped develop the first political party called the Federalists. All of this began on January 11th, on the island of Nevis, in the British West Indies, when Alexander Hamilton was born. The exact year of Alexander’s birth is unknown, but it is estimated that he was born in either 1755 or 1757. He was the result of an affair with his mother, Rachel Fawcett Lavine, and a Scottish trader that soon abandoned them.
Of the founding fathers of our nation, history often remembers the ones who shaped our nation the most. Of course, history is shaped by those that survive, and so the hundreds of accomplishments that Alexander Hamilton was able to achieve in his short life time mostly go unremembered. The United State’s first Secretary of Treasury shaped the early economy of the nation in ways that still affect us today, yet, before the hit broadway musical about him, most people remembered him as the guy on the ten-dollar bill and the guy that Aaron Burr shot. Alexander Hamilton did so much more than that.
Social standing determined occupation, housing, marriage, and many other things. Hamilton came to America with almost nothing, earning his class and social standing with nothing, but his brains and wit. Alexander Hamilton was born an illegitimate child on the island of Nevis in the British West Indies, to Rachael Fawcette Levine and James Hamilton, on January 11, 1755. James Hamilton was a traveling Scottish merchant, while Rachael Fawcette Levine was a young woman whom had divorced from her previous husband under Danish law. Due to Rachel’s previous divorce she was never able to remarry, making Hamilton an illegitimate child.
Alexander Hamilton (2004) is a detailed true story of one of the most important figures in American history. It is based on Hamilton’s early life. As a politician, as a revolutionary war hero, and the first treasury secretary, Hamilton dedicated his life and intellect to unifying and strengthening the United States. Hamilton in truth did perhaps more than any other one person to secure the power of the American Union. Though he was never president, he was a hero deemed as a true founding father, title he kept till his death.
Alexander Hamilton was one of the most influential political figures of his time. Though he never attained the title of president, few other foundering fathers influenced our political system more than he did. He is the perfect example of the American dream, because he rose from nothing to become a major player in forming our government. Weather you love or hate him, it’s hard to deny the influence he had on America. Hamilton began life in less than happy conditions.
