Andy's Behavior In The Shawshank

Andy’s behavior greatly affects other prisoners. He gives other inmates the opportunity to an education, reminds them what it's like to be free, and changes them as a person. With Andy winning over the warden through his financial skills, he manipulates the warden into letting him build a bigger and better library for the inmates. Andy discovered the other prisoners “hunger for information”(25). Previously, the library was much smaller but with Andy becoming a head librarian it expanded; an inmate could find just about ]anything they wanted. Andy opened the eyes to many inmates showing them that they can achieve something much bigger than a life sentence during their time in prison.
