Despite the many hours I worked on the class, I still could only get C’s on the tests. I spent most of my free time correcting my quizzes and rewriting notes from the class. I was struggling- so much that I let my other classes slip away. At home, I would fight with my mother about my grades. She would yell at me saying, “Your brothers could always get As!
The first essay I was assigned to do in English 101 scared me. I had to write a rhetorical analysis on a tree octopus. I remember when Mr. Sullivan assigned the class to do an outline of the P.S.A. message I wasn't sure exactly what he wanted us to do. I ended up writing a rhetorical analysis for the rhetorical analysis of the P.S.A. message. I felt extremely stupid when I came into class
I consistently struggled in class,I was still stuck in the maturation process. For me the biggest turning point came in fourth
Acing Difficult Subjects with Aplia Homework Answers without Getting Bogged Down Feeling dejected at not being able to score more than your peers? Not being able to cope with Microeconomics and English? Are you having these conversations over and over again?
Not being able to keep up with my classes lead me to having to take incompletes in a couple of my classes and making them up at a later date. Through my freshman and sophomore year I struggled to heal and spent most of my time with doctors rather than teachers at school. Once my junior year came, I started to return to my old self and began being able to handle
As I mentioned earlier, English is not my best subject, and I find that it can really be a challenge at points. All throughout my Elementary and Middle school careers I was honored to excel in mathematics and science, but I have been only average in English. Throughout middle school, I was able to get almost straight A’s, the only B’s I got were in English, mostly because of lacking effort (who doesn't slack off in middle school, I can't be the only one). Now that I am in high school and putting in more

Since a 5th grade student I struggled with math in certain areas and was embarrassed because I have always exceled in all my classes up until then. Therefore, I never asked for help and continued to struggle until high school. As a sophomore I encountered an instructor who was very thorough with her lessons.
Transitioning from high school to university was stressful, but Science 1A03 has been a tremendous amount of support during this time. The course enabled my journey through the first few months of university straightforward and also has taught me valuable skills about university and the different science courses offered at McMaster. The many aspects of Science 1A03 included the lectures, “Introducing … talks”, mentoring, MRI’s and weekly quizzes/reflections. Each week there would be one lecture where a guest speaker or Dr. Symons would talk about the different resources offered at McMaster or even vital skills to have while in university. One of our guest speakers was the Thode librarian, who showed us the vast topics of books present as
To begin, it is clear that most of my scores in my gradebook reflect my real work. Out of eight assignments, five are "A"'s and one a "B". This is because of the time and effort I put into writing my essays, crafting them until I have achieved the desired results. My strength
Finally, the argumentative essay might actually be my favorite essay to write. I love that I can write about anything which can include books, movies, history, and my life, and be able to support an argument. The only challenging part of this essay was finding a line of reasoning. For example, I had to support the idea of grit on the midterm with my examples being Rachel Berry from Glee and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Coming from a town where education was not considered important, I was unaware how classes, grading, and tutoring functioned in Davis. Overall, I was not sure how to properly be prepared for class. So I asked for help from Peer and Room Advisors, and discovered the resources Davis offered to students. Alas, workshops and tutoring were not beneficial because I had a midterm early in the quarter that did not allow me to take full advantage of my newly gained knowledge. I believed I
When I was in middle school, unlike other girls that good at literacy, I was terrible in my English but doing an excellent job in mathematics and sciences. I was lucky enough that my English teacher, who appreciated me to be myself instead of required me to fit in the stereotype, but he also never gave up on me
In middle school I had difficulty with math I did not know I had to find another way to learn, in high school I decided to make it my favorite sudject. My freshman year I stayed after school most of the time with help me alot for the next years in high school. Repetition was the key to solve my problem.
As a college freshmen, there is no doubt that I still have a long ways to go in order to achieve my academic goals. And through this journey, I know that I will encounter highs and lows just as I experienced in the past, most notability in high school. I keenly remember instances around this time where I doubted my abilities when subjects like math was proving to be difficult, even when I was trying to put in effort to stay on track. I was struggling in math because I did not try to identify my weaknesses, and never tried to come up with solutions to fix my problems. Rather, I chose to give up on math and settle with a grade barely passing.
